Tune up will run about 100 dollars with parts, and as far as a quality service center, look for one who people suggest, and talk to the service center and ask questions like, warrantee, how much and hour, and how long will it take.People will talk about services they receive, good and bad,if it is a place that has been in business a good while, and stay busy, they are most likely doing something right,If this was helpful, please let us know, and thank you for using fixya.

Serious problems after "tune up"

We can start by mentioning the name of the shop. As far as a transmission "tune up" what did that consist of? When your fluid is that dark, typically it's burnt and you've possibly done some internal damage to the transmission by running it like that. That being said, the transmission shop should've alerted you to this and that problems may occur.

Do i need to tune up nissan sentra 1996 model. i do not notice any problem. what is the cost to do a tune up

A tune up consists of the followig: -Spark plug replacement -Air filter cleaning/replacement -Fuel Filter replacement -Engine timing correction.
So yes, you must do a tune up every once in a while and a must before an emissions evaluation. It's not very costly and can be easily affordable by someone who can purchase gas for everyday use. For a 1996 Nissan Sentra, most of the cost will come from the spark plug that you will buy and the labor cost for correcting the timing of the vehicle.

The RPM's fluctuate after the car warms up. I think I need a tune-up.

The maintenance tune ups, for most of the cars, are scheduled at 30K, 60K , 90K miles. If you are late on the scheduled maintenance tune up, of course your car needs it, but to find the problem you need a "Check and Advice", only at Volvo dealer. It cost $65 to $100, on the top of tune up cost.

Does it require tune up

Regular Maintenance is vital to keeping your car on the road. The time and effort you put into keeping up with scheduled maintenance can save you big money in the long run.
Dealer 30k, 60k or 90k mile tune-ups can run from $250 for 3-4 hours of labor and basic maintenance, to over $1,000 at places with high labor costs and additional maintenance services, such as timing belt replacement.
If the mechanic identifies needed repairs, this can add a significant amount to your total.
At 90K repair shops normally replace the timing belt, or timing chain.
Your car require a tune up, if you have more than 30K on it. What kind of tune up your car needs depend on how many miles do you have on your car.

How much does a tune up cost

For a basic "tune-up," the rates as low as $30-$50 in places where the cost of living is low, to as much as $100 or more in expensive areas where more is included in the tune-up.
Most places will charge you for parts and labor separately. Often tune-up parts like spark plugs, air filters and fuel filters will run $20-$60. The hourly labor quotes are from $40 an hour, to over $110-$150 an hour at BMW and Mercedes dealerships in urban areas. In the San Francisco Bay Area, the ordinary repair shops charge rates from $55-$80 an hour, and ordinary dealerships rates of $80-$90.
Dealer 30k, 60k or 90k mile tune-ups can run from $250 for 3-4 hours of labor and basic maintenance, to over $1,000 at places with high labor costs and additional maintenance services, such as timing belt replacement.

Tune up

The best thing you can do for a vw, is get a certified vw dealership or shop to do the major intervals in your owners manual.

It will cost a little more, but the end result is a more reliable car with a history at a dealership - gold to a future buyer.

I got code PO303 on my 2006 ford freestar i just want to know what i can expect it to cost to fix

A P0303 code is a cylinder #3 misfire code. Usally a tune up, of plugs and wires fixes the problem. Normal cost is about $5 dollars a spark plug, about $85 in spark plug wires and around $100 in labor. So around $200-250 for the tune up. Then you'll need them to clear the check engine light, which may cost a diagnostic fee. If you haven't done a tune up in a while that would be the place to start. The other problem it could be is a fuel injector or a cylinder compression problem but those are unlikely. Hope this helps.
