All you have to do is reach up underneath the rear bumper, grab the light socket and turn a quarter turn counter-clock wise and pull the socket out of the housing. Then firmly grab the light bulb and pull straight out. Just reverse these directions for replacement.

well, I don't know about all of them, but I can't reach up under it. There is a type of guard there that won't allow that. That's why I looked it up. I wondered if the mount on the outside could be removed. But I guess I will try to get to it from underneath somehow.

There should be a pigtail connector for trucks with or without rear bumpers. Did you look in the harness for a brown wire ?
Same as the marker lights.

Is there a fuse for the license plate lights? 1999 gmc yukon

the fuse that works the license light is the same fuse that works the tail lights.so if the license light is not working then there is a wiring problem at the back of the truck for the light.check the wire for damage or corrosion were the light wire connects to the truck wiring.or the bulb is no good.also the ground for the light may have a problem.

License plate light out on my `04 gmc envoy, how do i replace it?

Has 2 screws for the cover, take them out and replace the bulb/s. Might check the seal that seals the entire license plate panel, it's black. Common problem is that this seal comes folded under from the factory and allows water into the bulb area.

2000 GMC Jimmy License Plate Lights

That's just the license light housing. You should be able to find one at most wrecking yards. Some NAPA stores have an outlet for these parts as well. Try carpart.com and partschannel.com. Both of these sites are for replacement body parts.

License Plate Lights

Probably not... For some reason license plate light wiring and sockets are VERY prone to corrosion. Make sure to check the light sockets and try to get to the wiring close to them, your problem is more than likely very close to the lights.
