CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY FIRST.SCAN FOR ANY PCM FAULT CODES IF ALL IS GOOD.YOUR FUEL PUMP IS IN FUEL TANK.BESURE TO TURN OFF AIR SUSPENSION SWITCH LOCATED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT.MUST BE TURNED OFF POSITION BEFORE RAISING THE VECHICLE.FAILURE TO DO SO WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO AIR SPRINGS.YOU NEED TO REPLACED DRIVE BELT FIRST YOU NEED DRIVE BELT TO TURN WATER PUMP.THAT WHY ENGINE OVERHEATED.NO POWER TO FUEL PUMP AND OTHER COMPONENTS BECAUSE DRIVE BELT ALSO DRIVES THE ALTERNATOR TO KEEP POWER SUPPLIED TO CAR BATTERY AND CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.YOU NEED TO FIX BELT FIRST.OR NOTHING WORK.

Car was running and idleing then shut of turns over just wont start

this could be a couple of things it could be a fuel pump that went out or a timing belt that broke, the way to check the fuel pump is to take off the gas cap and put your ear to the gas nozzle and have someone to turn the key to the on position and listen for a humming sound if you dont hear it then the fuel pump is out, if you do hear the humming then it could be the timing belt broke. hope this helped

Car just died while driving it. It has sprark and you can hear the fuel pump when you turn the key on. but it will not start

you might have just broke the timing belt you can take a spark plug out and see if the is compression in the engine by covering the hole with youre thumb and having someone turn the engine over if it has compression it will push youre thumb off the spark plug hole if it doesnt id bet its the timing belt

I have a 1992 corolla and it will start sometimes.

I'd suggest you should turn on the ignition, and listen carefully to hear if the fuel pump (located in the fuel tank) runs for a couple of seconds. Providing you hear it run, it should start. If it doesn't run, perhaps it is faulty, or its relay may be faulty.
I'm not sure offhand where the relay is located. You may hear it click in and out when you turn the ignition on and off.
The pump should run briefly to ensure the fuel pressure is up.

Won't start?

if it sounds like it is turning over faster than usual the timing belt could be broke, turn the key on and listen if you can hear the fuel pump switch on
