May be as simple as a loose gas cap. I know a loose gas cap can trigger a MIL (Maintenance Indicator Light)

I agree a faulty or loose cap is the most common problem for a MIL . Have the cap pressure checked and make sure it is properly seated on the filler tube.

I replaced my fuel pump on my 2000 windstar and it reads fuel data error why will it not start and why wont that go off or fuel system data error

Check for a inertia switch. It is designed to shut off the fuel in case of a rear end emergency. It is possible that the inertia switch was tripped .

Hi. my 2000 ford windstar was working fine and yesterday it just would not start. Its cranking hard but it just would not start. sounds like its not getting gas. What could be the problem? how can I find...

The fuel pump in the tank could have failed. Check for fuel pressure on the fuel rail with a fuel pressure guage at the shrader valve. You could have some one bang on the fuel tank with a rubber mallet while cranking it may or may not still start if it starts it needs a fuel pump. If not need to check fuel pressure. Could also be other reasons.

2000 ford windstar problem with gas mileage

Start the car with the hood open. Check the engine compartment as well as the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine compartment. If there is a leak you will find it. Remember gasoline will evaporate quickly when there is air movement so watch carefully to make sure you don't look over the leak.

2002 Ford Windstar Error Code P1131 And P1151

those two codes are for the o2 sensors. both are the upstream sensors on the front and rear banks. so they are desinagted bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1. them most common cause for this is faulty o2sensors , bad gas and of a poor running engine. so if your car runs good (no misfire) and gas is ok then replace the o2sensor witch is the very most common cause.

Cant get gas to injecters 2000 ford windstar it was 5 out last night and 25 out today weve been having problems getting it to start for the last 2 weeks

Disconnect your supply lines to the cylinders. Try starting the car while someone watches the disconnected lines. If fuel pumps from the lines you need to have your injectors cleaned or replaced. More likely it is your fuel pump that has gone bad. If you dont see any fuel flowing from the disconnected fuel lines, try replacing your fuel pump and replace your fuel filter too just to be prevent pushing any dirt and sediment from a dirty filter into a new pump.

I have a 2000 Ford Windstar W/ 3.8, the codes that came up said that there was no power going to the HO2 sensors. The mechanic said that there was a short some were. Where can I start looking?? We are only...

try this. take out the oxy sensor. use a solvent(Berkline 2+2.) and clean ends of sensor. then buy dielectric grease(it looks like vaseline) and put on connectors. plug back in.

buy can of SEAFOAM and add to a 1/2 tank(at least) of PREMIUM gas. change out fuel filter.

This is another problem caused by Ethanol Gas Syndrome.

the ethanol creates water and turns the fuel to a milky substance. and clogs up injectors, egr valves, carbomizes valves, and other things.

After changing f filter, and adding SF to gas, let car idle for 3-5 min. then drive car approx 10 miles(hard)

If you can afford it, replace the fuel filter again. After this, you should see marked improvement. add SF every 3-5000 miles and it will keep your vehicle running good. good luck.
