Question about 1998 GMC Jimmy
My 1998 GMC Jimmy SLT Tachometer just started going erratic. After a bit it settles down but then might drop to zero RPM's and then goes erratic before functioning normally again. It's as if the cable is sticky. Any thoughts?

SOURCE: 95 honda accord v6 tach
On your HOnda accord V6.
The rpm is generated from the Distributor.
The more possible problem for erratic RPM is the cam sensor inside of the Distributor. But I guess you can't buy just the sensor.
And can afect the engine performance.
OK. I hope this information work for you.
I work on cars everyday. Thank you for use fixya.

No its not the idle control valve. In 2004 dodge had a spark plug and wire problem. They did make a new one but did not classify it as a recall so just go to your dodge dealer and ask for the update
