Question about Kia Sorento
If you want to remove the barrel then you will need the key in the aux position ,look on the new one to locate the location or the retaining pin ,then with the key in the lock turned to aux position push the pin down to pull the barrel out .but as you havent stated why you want to change the barrel then if you have lost the key you will have to cut the whole steering lock off .Make sure you remove the transponder before you do this then you will have to have the vehicle taken to the dealer to have the chipped key re-programmed.Now sometimes if you have access then the bolts that hold the steering lock on which have had the heads broken off can if your lucky be tapped loose with a centre punch ,but in all honesty i have only managed this a few times another thing that some vehicle have is the locating pin that has to be pushed down to remove the barrel havent got the hole drilled out so you will have to locate it then drill it if this year vehicle is like this but this is normally only on VW vehicles.
