If the proportioning valve is leaking, certainly replace it. May find parts at dealer, or aftermarket source or even a salvage yard.

I checked Autozone but did not find this part listed, per se.

Hi I am from Norway and have replaced my proportion valve for rear brakes on my Corolla 1996 1,3 xli wagon.I am wondering how I can bleed off air and flush back to new brake fluid.Do I need to connect a...

None of those things . Just bleed the brakes normally starting from the longest line and ending with the shortest. The proportioning valve will always let brake fluid through, just not enough to lock up the rear brakes until you press heavy on the pedal . It is there so that full pressure to the large front brakes is reduce in proportion to the smaller rear brakes.

1994 Cadillac Deville has been sitting in a garge for ten. What will I need to look out for when first starting after ten years

Replace all fluids (including fuel) - coolant (may want to flush system), engine oil, drain and replace transmission fluid and filter, drain and replace rear end fluid. Also change fuel and oil filters. (may be a filter at the end of the fuel line going into the carburetor as well0 If fuel was left in the system - it may have evaporated and clogged things like your carburetor jets. There may be gum (varnish) in your carburetor float bowls. Hopefully your valve seals are not dried out (oil will leak into the cylinders if they are cracked) - or any other rubber parts for that matter (hoses- rda - heater - power steering). Your brake fluid absorbs water over time and with need to be drained and replaced - bleed all lines. Be sure that all lines are not rusted and that your master cylinder and brake cylinders function. Lots of thing =s to check - I hope I covered most, if not all. Let me know how you make out getting it going. Thanks. Good Luck :) !

Where is the bleeder valve on the rear of 87 Cadillac Deville

If you are referring to the brake bleeder valve, it is located on the wheel cylinders on the backing plate of the brakes for the drum brakes. Follow the brake lines to this bleeder valve. However, it might be rusty and must be soaked in penetrating oil or brake fluid before trying to turn it.

If you are referring to the air ride suspension, look at the rear axle area and look for a lever that controls the 'air bleed' for the air shocks. Follow the small (in diameter) plastic air lines from either of the rear shocks to the bleeder valve.

My rear brakes are locking up way before the fronts. I have replaced the master cylnder and propotioning valves, problem is still there. would the 4-way connector for the rear brakes do this if it were bad...

The rear brakes engage when the power or pressure going through the lines are equal. Normally that occurs when the pads and or shoes touch the rotors and or the drums, then the brakes work smoothly. A clog or air (which is more compressible than fluid) makes the balancing a problem and can cause one or more wheels brake differently than the others.

Oil missing out of master cylinder oil on rear line going to back brake

You have a raptured brake line. Mostly from rust. Everytime you apply pressure to the brake pedal that is why its taking brake fluid. Keep adding brake fluid to your master cylinder-don't let it go dry or you will lose all of your back brakes if you didn't already. You have to have your brake lines replaced and have your brakes bled. Should be about a $100 job at a good brake shop.

C1243 - BPMV Pump Motor Stalled1999 cadillac deville

BPMV = Brake Pressure Modulator Valve.

Part of the anti-lock brakes and traction control system.
The BPMV is located at the left hand front corner of the engine compartment, attached to the EBTCM (electronic brake control module).

CAUTION: For safety reasons, the brake pressure modulator valve assembly must not be repaired, the complete unit must be replaced. With the exception of the EBTCM ,no screws on the brake pressure modulator valve assembly may be loosened. If screws are loosened, it will not be possible to get the brake circuits leak-tight and personal injury may result.
