Question about 1998 Volkswagen Beetle

98 VW Beetle replace seats

Hi,
I have a 1998 Volkswagen Beetle and I'm looking at replacing the seats for my car. I saw some leather seats from a 2004 VW Beetle and was wondering if anybody knew if they would fit my car.

Hi as long as the seats are out of the same shape as yours if your is not the soft top version then the seats need to be out of the same as yours, but other than that they should just fit strait in they will be held in by 4 bolts 2 a the front of the seats and 2 at the back and if you have an airbag in the seat then you need to undo the block connector on the bottom of the seat and then connect the seats up your getting. if your seats have air bags then the new seats need to have air bags also but if your seats are not air bag then it wont matter if the new seats are or not aas you would just not connect the wires up.

other than that you should have no problems changing the seats over

Thanks for the quick response Pauldon. The car is the same shape just a different year. Your response was very helpful.

hi if its the same shape then you can change the seats with no problems they will just fit strait in make sure when you tighten the bolts up that they are done up tight enough but other than that you should have no problems fitting the new seats.

if you have any problems then just give me a shout back and ill assist you the best i can

2004 vw beetle instrument lights out, how do I replace?

Check your fuse block for a blown fuse. There should be a schematic for the fuse block on the inside of the cover and/or in Section 3.2 of your Owner's Manual. In my 1998 VW Beetle I'd check fuses #5 and #11.

2004 vw beetle window fuse what # would be for the fuses? I don't have a manual & pannel doen't show.

Send me an email address and I'll send along a fuse block diagram for my daughters 1998 Beetle, it's most likely the same in 2004. Compare the arrangement with yours.

The 1998 diagram doesn't indicate any fuse in the inside fuse block that controls the power windows (even though my daughters 1998 has power windows). There is a metal fuse on the fuse block above the battery that controls the cars electrical system, but the diagram indicates that this should only be replaced by a VW Dealer.

Maybe you can call the local VW Dealer once you have a fuse block diagram to refer to. They should be willing to tell you over the phone.
