Sometimes the sensor goes bad, or the thermostat. As long as water pump and radiator work like designed most cars dont overheat. You may want to have those replaced. Is your heater blowing hot air? If so it most likely the sensor, if its cooler than usual than probably the thermostat.

I have a 1963 Chevy stepside with a 327 engin, after reaching running temperature, it wont start

(1)Remove the air cleaner, looking down the primary throttle bore (front) move the throttle at the carburetor. Did you see fuel spray? if so its not a fuel related issue.
(2)Next, check your battery cables. High resistance in a cable (corrosion) will get worse with heat. Heat increases resistance. You may want to replace them depending how old they are. You need to check for condition and security of how they are connected ( good tight, clean connections). Sometimes its difficult to spot corrosion with the plastic insulation on top of the cable. Corrosion is usually at the ends where the bare wire is exposed.
(3) May have a bad starter. My old Ford would crank slow when hot. Found bad cables, but eventually had to replace starter too. Works great now.

Car never reaches operating temperature (cold weather) thus little to no heat inside

change the thermostat, sounds like it could stuck open and wont allow the engine reach operating temp, also test the constant control relay module located to the right of the battery as your facing the front of the car, also test coolant temp switch it might be defective and producing a high voltage that would cause the fans to constantly operate no matter the temp. Hope this helps

Just flushed rad heater core and block because i had no heat. flushed the system filled with new antifreeze. my temp gauge will change from 150 to 210 I have heat then i dont

Replace the thermostat. I have had bad luck with aftermarket thermostats on this particular year of GM/ Chevy trucks. They tend to stick closed and then fully open, thus causing the temp to sort of surge hot and cold. A good thermostat will slowly open maintaning a good consistant temp. I would recommend spending a little more and getting a GM thermostat.

Trying to wire a 1994 lt1 into 1996 chevy s-10

It should be a plug and play if your using the ECM for the 1994 engine. The ECM on the 1996 S10 will no work on the LT1 engine, for one thing the S10 ECM will only command for 6 fuel injectors and will have different injection pulse and so on. The program of the S10 ECM is made for the Vortec as to the LT1 will have different parameter **** as engine running temperature, vacuum readings, and timing.
The most obvious would be the 1994 LT1 runs on a OBDI system and the 1996 is running on a OBDII system. You can still run the 1994 LT1 from a 1994 with a OBDii system ecm, but some of the sensors will need to be upgraded to accommodate for the proper readings the OBDII system will need to have the engine to run right.
If you don't have the right ECM for the LT1, go to the wrecker's and locate one, Caprice, Camero, Firebird ECT.....
Thank you for using fixya and good luck on your project.

I WOULD STILL CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE.IF ALL IS GOOD.ENGINE GETTING TOO HOT WILL SHUT OFF.ALSO A LEAKING INTAKE GASKET WILL CAUSE STALLING WHEN HOT.

2000 chevy blazer starting issues

swng,
1) Is the service engine soon light ever on when engine is running?
2) Per your description I would look at the ECT sending unit. It sends coolant temperature information the the Engine Control Module for proper fuel delivery for cold engine start. It may have lost its calibration.
Let me know.
