Tip

Easy Way to unscrew spark Plugs and wires on any car

Before removing spark plugs spray ca-rb cleaner around spark plug holes to keep foreign material out of the cylinder. After clean the spark plug wells when removing the plug wires from the plug be sure to twist the spark plug wire boot as you pull and pull only on the boot not on the wire otherwise it will break the wire inside and cause the engine to miss.

Get the tools out to change the spark plugs on your car and you can only turn the ratchet 1/4 turn at a time? While at the parts store buy 1 foot of rubber hose that will fit over the tip of the spark plug, once the Plug is broke loose with the ratchet and socket assembly put the hose over the tip of the spark plug and turn the hose to remove the spark plugs, saves a lot of time Especially on the 95 Dodge caravan or any of the six cylinder engines 3.0 V-6 or V-8. You can restart the plugs with the Tube as well just glide the plug into the hole then get the hose straight and twist the hose and it will turn the spark plug, never worry about cross threading a spark plug again. Also just before installing the plug spray a slight amount of WD-40 on the threads so that it will screw in easy. Not up on Tune ups? This is one of the most overlooked items on the cars today spark plugs have to be gaped before installed, even thought you buy them you must re gap them for your car while you are at the parts store purchasing your plugs check each one for damage if the tip is very close to the electrode (End of Plug) it could have been dropped so refuse it and ask for another. If you drop the spark plug you can damage the porcelain and cause a engine misfire. As well you want to buy dielectric grease to put on the boot of the spark plugs, (both ends) What you want to do is put the grease on the tip of your finger your smallest finger then cover it all the way around with the grease lightly then stick finger into the plug wire and twist your finger or the boot.then install the boot.on the plug then do the same on the coil. This eliminates spark leakage to ground at both places and saves the computer the plugs and gives better fuel mileage.
