You may have a leaking hose from the overflow bottle, or there maybe a crack in the overflow bottle itself. I've replaced a few of those because they had cracked.

2007 Chevy Uplander V6 loosing coolant when driving, more when it is really cold outside.

You need to have your cooling system pressure tested. This will let you examine the engine area without the hazards of the engine running. You may have head gasket issues. Depending on the area of the leak, your cylinder compression can actually pressurize the cooling system. When the cooling system pressure exceeds the rating of the cap, the cap seal opens and can blow coolant back into the overflow bottle where it eventually leaks while driving. Check to see if your overflow bottle is full.

Loosing antifreeze

fix the water leak at the heater first. You may be loosing pressure in the radiator allowing the coolant to boil at a low temp. This will pass water to the overflow bottle which is when you will be able to smell it

Leaking engine coolant

Can you see the leaking fluid under your hood, or car? If so, you should be able to trace the leak to a hose, water pump seal, thermostat housing, intake gasket, overflow bottle, radiator? If not, the antifreeze leak could be around the intake manifold...catch this before it starts to leak internally...meaning watger in your oil...:( Most of these leak repairs are inexpensive...keep me posted. Hope this helps.

I have a 2002 Chevy Impala and I have a coolant leak and am having trouble locating the source. Any suggestions? Any engine layouts available?

wash the engine with water and let it dry, then pressurize the cooling system with a tester, using a mirror and a trouble light search behind and under the engine all hoses , frost plugs and firewall areas, also around the overflow bottle, of course it could be an internal engine leak either in the crankcase of an intake gasket,

I have to keep on filling antifreeze in the overflow tank. What does this mean?

If you have to keep filling the bottle it means that the coolant is leaking somewhere. Have the system pressure tested, and that should pinpoint the problem

93 lincoln mark v111 antifreeze radiator, how do i bleed air out of rad, coolant from coolant bottle into radiator?

When you top off the radiator you fill it to the neck where the cap goes. When the engine heats up the antifreeze eventually will distribute and the excess will go into the overflow bottle.

After the car cools, it will draw the antifreeze from the overflow tank into the radiator. Then check the level line on the overflow bottle(tank) for the normal amount of antifreeze per marks on the bottle.

You should have your radiator cap checked for its pressure rating. Use the type of cap which allows for an overflow system. The older caps would not let the antifreeze flow both ways.

it is just the overflow hose, you can replace it with regular vacume hose that diameter, but you should replace the radiator cap,its letting off pressure.the hose connects to your overflow bottle
