You'll need to lower down the steering column, unplug the electrical connectors to the switch, unbolt the 2 bolts that hold the switch to the top of the column.

kevin it sounds like its your ignition lock tumbler key and not your switch you can find it at an autozone store near you.

it should only be three wires, two on the main post of the solenoid and 1 on the smaller post to engage the selenoid

I would think any full size GM from that era will work. As long as the tanks are in the same location an of the same size. Bonneville, Impala, caprice, and it looks like 1966 to 1969.

I am removing the dash from my 1967 chevelle, got all the switches out w/ the exception of the ignition switch, I can turn the bezel so far and then it appears to stop turning and the switch is still in...


I have a '67 Chevelle SS and I have to replace the ignition switch too. I tried removing the very top edge of the dash by removing all of the screws but it won't budge. How did you remove yours?

Should be drums in the front of the Catalina?

www.rockauto.com sells RAYBESTOS Part # 1270 which are for the front of the 65-70 Catalina, and 68-70 Catalina Ventura.

"IF" you are talking about a conversion kit to run disc brakes on the front that is a different story.

after the bolt is removed yes it just pulls off, it can get real stuck on there, so use a brass hammer if that is the case.
