I am trying to identify the name of the part that has broken

For the lack of a better word, it looks like a stabalizer bar that has rotted and broken. one end connects to wheel while the other attaches to what would be the rear axle; keeping the wheels from flopping all over the place; which is what happens if i try to drive it; i can't find anybody that knows what i am talking about, so PLEASE Help

Sounds like a rear radius arm has rotted off,you should be able to pick one up at a parts store or even a dealer, usually the dealer will have better luck getting the correct part and they can show you a diagram of the suspension and let you p[ick out the part you need, hope this helps

Stabalizer bar

If you would like a useful solution for repairing your vehicle, it would be much better if you were to describe the problem you are having and what information about "stabilizer bar" you are looking for. Ask an incomplete question and you will recieve an incomplete answer that will not help you with your problem.

What does a stabalizer bar look like on a 96 dodge caravan

About 1" bar runs from side to side behind/near steering rack to each side, held on with "U" shaped brackets and rubber bushings. Rear runs from frame rail to frame rail and attaches to axle housing with same type of bracket and rubber bushings. Similar to "U" shape bending in a few places, and connected by links/struts at ends.

What r problems to be on the look out for on a 1999 chevy malibu with the 3100 v6 in it and there is a rattle when i hit bumps or rough road the struts are fine

Broken stabalizer links, broken stabilizer bar, and worn out stabilizer bar bushings are fairly common. As well as the rear bushings on the front lower control arms. A quick inspection of the front end and you should be able to tell if the links are bad, bar is broken, or the lower control arm bushings are separated. If the rear bushings on the front lower control arms are seperated the lower control arm will look like it is resting on the subframe.

How do u install the stabalizer link on a 1992 olds 88

Locate the old link, it is one bolt that holds isolators and washers around the stabalizer bar to keep it from moving up and down, and eliminates body torsional twisting.

Remove the old link-you may have to cut it off if it is rotted, and replace it as the old one was, there is one stabilizer link on each side of the stabilizer bar so if one is broke, look at the other side to see how the isolators and washers go.

Always replace both of these , never just replace one. Good practice and not expensive. (They may come in pairs, depending on where you buy them.)

Pretty simple once you attack it.

1995 Ford Taurus stabilizer bars cause rear end of car to ''sway''.

If you are any kind of car savy then you can do this yourself. Go to your local parts store and buy the stabalizer link kits. The stabalizer links are located behind the tires and bolt to the struts at the top and the stabalizer bar on the bottom. You don't need any special tools for this project and the stabalizer bars will cost you anywhere from 30-65 dollars a piece.
