SOURCE: 2000 ford taurus- wont shift into gear

first check drive axels , since you replaced front springs on struts i assume. it is possible that one of the axels popped out. next if thats ok check fluid level in trans with eng OFF should show over full make a srcribe mark on the stick. then START the eng it should go down to full or just below depends if trans is full or a little low . if level does not drop approx.1/2 in or so then have a transmission shop check for bad splines in torque convertor, that is a comon problem in that car, year and milage do not play a roll a large roll in parts failure in trans any more. not like it use-to.

Try spraying some carb cleaner in the air intake and see if it tries to run. If it does its a fuel issue. Either you dont have fuel pressure, or the injectors are not opening. What is the fuel pressure? should be approx 40 psi. Does the CK ENG light up when you turn the key on?

Can you hear the pump whirring noise when you turn the key on? A totally stopped up filter can ruin a pump quickly, but it could be the fuel pump inertia cut-off switch in the trunk needs reset by pushing down the red button. don-ohio

1994 Ford Taurus GL 3.0L will not start. Cooling fan and fuel on constantly with key In "on" position. Has new relay control module. Check engine light does not come on when key is on.

I have always heard that a constantly running fuel pump and cooling fan is an indicator that your ecu is going bad, horrible words to hear i know but definitely do some research on this and if it is the problem luckily there are decent finds in scrap yards to be had for little money. hope this helps and sorry about the bad luck :(

1992 ford taures shuts off after warm

The fan and fuel pump running all the time is a classic symptom of a faulty CCRM or a constant control relay module a fancy name given to a box they put the fuel pump relay fan relays ecm relay a/c relay into and charged tons of money for back in the 90s now they are dirt cheap this should fix you right up

No fire

Hi. This is a pretty rare situation for a taurus, no fire, (ignition) in all the taurus' I've seen only a handful have had no spark. The most likely cause of this condition is going to be a crankshaft sensor problem. But, there is also probability of having a security system locking out spark and possibly even a bad coil pack. I'd bet on the crankshaft sensor anyways, but check to see if the theft light goes on flashes rapidly when trying to start the vehicle, this will tell tale of a security problem with either the key or lock cylinder. The most common Ford no start issues I encounter almost on a daily basis would be caused by fuel pumps going bad. You should probably try and spray some carb cleaner solution into the throttle body just in case, and crank the engine over to see if it starts. I know you stateed NO FIRE but every so often I encounter a hiccup in the ECM that may be just a fuel pump shorting out signals and it turns out the fuel pump was the cause. Good luck, and let me know if you need more help.

I ram out of gas now my 1998 ford taurus wont start

It's quite possible you burned out the fuel pump. The fuel pump relies on a constant flow of gasoline to cool it. Unfortunately, you have to drop the tank to access the fuel pump, but is a fairly easy fix for an avid do-it-youselfer. Before you go to that length, though, try having someone stand by rear of the car and listen for the "whirr" of the fuel pump when you turn the key to the "RUN" position. (not "START", just "RUN") If they can hear the pump, try turning the key off and on about 5 times to re-pressurize the fuel system before attempting to start the engine. Hope this helps a little and your problem is not too severe. Best of luck!
