A dragging feeling or sound could be work out brake pads, parking brake shoes or a frozen brake caliper. Once the majority of the brake bad wears away, small metal blades begin built into them begin to make contact with the rotor. This starts sounding like an intermittent squeak to let you know it's time to service the brakes. If ignored, eventually the rivets the hold the pad to the metal back plate begin to grind a groove into the rotor. If deep enough, the rotor will need to be replaced - in addition to the pads. The parking brake can do the same thing. I suggest bringing the car to a brake specialty shop AND your trusted mechanic to be properly diagnosed & evaluated to get an estimate for this repair work.

2001 Toyota Echo sounds like metal dragging/trouble shiftinga nd accelerating

Nothing to do with your alternator. Transmission sounds possible. Also possible CV joints (constant velocity) - or your front wheel drive drive shaft(s). The mystery fluid leak is a definite concern. What was texture/color/amount of fluid? Where specifically did it come from?

The "gurgling sound" is a new one to me. ???

The CV joints is an easy check. Get under vehicle and grasp the drive shaft (one on each wheel) and give a good yank towards/away from you. If there is good resistance - or feels pretty solid, your shaft is probably OK. If it moves a whole bunch, it is probably broken and needs replacement. While you are there, check around the rubber ***** that is close to the wheel and make sure it is not ruptured or torn or missing. Anyproblems with this ***** only means inevitable replacement soon. (Some models have replacement boot kits, but I have never had any luck with them.)

What is this horrible scraping sound?

have the breaks checked....make sure the lugs are all present and do not appear loose....see if the brake fluid is low too...if that is what's leaking....

When you hear the front passenger brakes screech does it mean they need replacing

The brake pads do. There's a thin piece of metal on the pad that will drag on the rotor when they get then to let you know that they are thin and need to be replaced. If you don't replace them soon, you could wear all the way down to the metal backing plates, and ruin your rotors, which will be quite a bit more expensive.

Front and back speakers quit working but my subs still work. Is this a fuse problem?

Don't know, but I doubt each different speaker would be fused

Something NO ONE seems to understand IS

Look at an actual fuse
They are no more than a piece of wire
They don't do anything

They just sit there and wait for high current
flow, that causes them to get hot & melt, thus
breaking or opening the circuit they protect.

If a fuse ever opens or blows you DO NOT replace it

You find out why it blew, you have problems down steam
in the wiring.

My car makes a scrapping and or grinding noise when driving and braking like i'm dragging something it is a Ford Focus SE 2004

It a small piece of metal that rubs against your rotor, to let you know the brake pads need to be changed. It's an indicator before they get worn really bad. If this is not repaired you will spend more money to replace the rotors from the metal grinding into the metal rotor.

Metal piece hanging in middle of undercarriage just behind wheels

It's likely the heat shield for the catalytic converter. There's really no repair for it. Mechanics won't usually spot weld it and they can't remove it. Apart from a little rattle now and then, there's really nothing to worry about.

Found a 4 inch x 2 inch piece of curbed metal under my Taurus

you shouldn't have anything to worry about i mean i cant tell you 100 percent without seeing a picture of that metal but im pretty sure its just a piece of the rocker panel and that is the sides of the cars but underneath and they make little pieces of metal like that under there so you can jack the car up and it be stronger and not be directly on the paint.... If you have anymore questions feel free to ask and if you get a moment if you could please just rate me.
