Replaced the master/slave assembly 5 years ago....pedal kept getting closer to floor....then went to the sign of external leak at master or slave.....noticed the line that goes from the master to the slave had slipped out of an L shaped bracket on the firewall...stuck it back in, and secured with a tie wrap....pedal is all the way back up.....can't believe I lucked out...don't have the bucks for a new assembly...thought I'd share this...

I have 94 Mazda mx-3 for the past month or so I've been having problems with my clutch and I notice a big wet stain on the floor mat and carpet I assume its the master cylinder or slave cylinder but I am...

It's leaking on the driver's side? That would be the master cylinder bolted onto the firewall. You will have to replace with a new or remanufactured clutch master cylinder. When the seals go out, the whole unit must be rebuilt. The store will give you a discount if you bring in your old one for exchange.
The clutch slave cylinder will be down on the transmission bell housing. Follow the small steel line from the master cylinder. It goes right to the slave cylinder.
Pretty easy to change out the master cylinder. Remove the steel line, unbolt unit from the firewall, then under the dash, there's a rod from the clutch pedal to the master cylinder. Just undo the retaining clip or pin holding the rod to the pedal. When the new unit is installed and filled with fluid, then you get to learn how to bleed the hydraulic clutch at the slave cylinder-the fun never stops.

Quick fix for stiff Clutch pedal MGF2002

I would give serious consideration to rep[lacing the clutch master cylinder as it is possible that there is a problem in the compensation port in the bore.

2002 pontiac firebird clutch problem

either the slave or master cylinder (or both ) may need an overhaul , plunger(s) may not be returning as have gone past the seal, try this first and change fluid at same time , cheapest option , when driving does the clutch slip ? if not would think clutch assembly is ok

I use alot of water..i changed my intake 3 months ago..i dnt see any water from weep hole..i did see my fan stop and start again..when i crank it makes a rubbing noise by that fan and a chirping...

I would replace the fan clutch and see if that fixed it. You can check the water pump shaft after you switch fan clutches. Your water loss can be from overheating. Some Service stations have Radiator pressure testers and you might have your cap tested too.

Sometimes you can borrow tools from Autozone or Oreillys with a refundable deposit.

It is the release bearing, you should get it replaced quickly otherwise it might damage the plate.

Clutch slip on ford fusion low milage

So you might need to replace it perhaps milage has nothing to do with it.I might be able to drive it every where like taht for six months or so the next guy might get a day or week out of it before it completely gives up.So more less this is a issue of how well we drive a stanard other times if car is used by a a fanily of 2or 3 that uslay finishes them quickly.I remeber I changed a clutch on a costumers car 3 months later back for another then learned his son and two daughters and wife drive it too!

I don't know if you are trying to prove a point here or not?

If you are losing hydraulic fluid out of your clutch you need to fix the leak.

If you have a Hyandai 6 wheeler truck I would like to see it.
