Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Grand Cherokee Jeeps suffer from problems related to PCI (programmable control interface) bus connectected to the PCM (main car computer). If that is the issue, then it cannot be fixed or diagnosed with ordinary tools, but scan is done using a DRBIII (not standard OBDII) reader available at the dealer's place.
Try first disconnecting the battery cable for ten minutes. Ensure you have anti theft code if needed.
Find the nearest dealer and, apart doing a standard OBDII scan, ask a scan for PCI bus problem, that is a common fault. Mention them that the problem may be related to this, the mechanic may not be aware of the common issue .
If that is not the problem, then the problem is a bad contact or a short. This is affecting different sections of your Jeep wiring.
Troubleshooting this kind of problem requires patience. Repair is done following wiring with multimeter reading Volts on wiring.
First check battery ground cable and battery connectors.Start from the underhood fuse box. Check contacts at the back. If the problem started from one single door and central lock, check the wiring behind the door panel.
Each power window has also its own control module that will also affect central locking. If problem started on a single door , then PDM and DDM (the two modules) must be checked.
