Fuel caps have pressure release and vacuum release built into them. 1/2 psi will be quite common and be more noticeable on an empty tank in hot weather. If higher. replace fuel cap

I need a diagram to show me the routing of the petrol pipes on a citroen c3 from the petrol tank to the engine and back to the petrol tank please?

the fuel is constantly rotating round the fuel lines, the fuel is pressurized, so any fuel that is not used by the injectors is sent back to the tank.. this give a constant flow and pressure to the tank. the pressure in the tank is regulated by the pressure relay that lets air into the tank to lower the pressure. this is regulated by the ecu and your speed. if the pressure drops or is to high in the tank the engine can cut out on the fuel rail there is a fuel pressure regulator this keeps pressure on the fuel line coming into the injection system. some systems have duel line feeds from the tank for 2 rail systems, this system was not reliable due to the amount of feed pressure needed to fuel 2 lines. and can cause pressure leaks. some systems have a pressure regulator controlled by the ecu on the return line, this is more fuel efficient as it keeps the fuel at a steadier flow back to the tank and give a better fuel spray into the engine. hope this help you.

Replacing a fuel tank pressure sensor. Is this different than the fuel regulator on the fuel pump?

Fuel tank pressure sensor is a sensor that is on my vehicle and I would assume on all vehicles on the fuel tank itself. Fuel tanks build up pressure (lots of pressure sometimes) They must have a way to vent this pressure so manufactures install fuel tank pressure valves and wire a sensor to it and hook it up to the on board computer. On my Mercury marquis it is impossible to replace my sensor without first removing the fuel tank. So to answer your ? yes the fuel pump regulator is different than the fuel tank pressure sensor. If you need help positively locating where it is go to Autozone.com and create an account (free) and enter your yr/mk/model and there you can go to repair help and view online Chiltons repair manuals. Good Luck!

Tank pressure sensor? Tank pressure sensor is in the fuel pump it on tank, it shouldn't have a fuel pressure sensor, it will have a fuel pressure regulator on the return line off the fuel rail

What does code PO453 mean

the evaporative emission system (EVAP) control system pressure sensor has sent high voltage to the ecm or engine control module and triggered this code either the purge valve located under the car by the gas tank has gone bad, or the charcoal canister has become gas soaked and is pressurizing from gas fumes, or the sensor or wires have shorted , there is also a secondary valve located und the cover of the intake that should also be checked for shorts that can trigger this code but usually it is the one under the car that goes out 9 out of 10 times it is from fuel being burped into the evap canister or charcoal canister from the gas tank which is caused from overfilling the tank or mid day heat of 90 or better with a full tank

Wet spark plugs

Wet plugs can be from 2 things -- excess fuel ==faulty injectors==excessive fuel pressure in manifold==faulty ECM and 2 excesive oil by passing the rings. have the fault codes read to find faults in the control systems sensors and have a compression test done to determine engine condition. That will also show if the wet plugs is from a cooling leakage problem

1992 toyota tercel turns but wont start

running out of ideas, try spray trhotle body cleaner while some one try to start the car, if it runs then your problem is in fuel pump circuit or pump, by pass or jump fuel pump relay and check fuel pressure, check at relay socket your signal from ignition switch it must be hot all times(ignition on) also check your ground points, clean then if excesive resistance, good luck.

What is the codes means po452 and po453

Hi,

The codes indicate a problem with the fuel tank pressure sensor. One code is for no volts, the other is for high volts. Without a scanner hooked up to monitor. I have to go with you have a bad fuel tank pressure sensor. this is an emissions control sensor. the tank is pressurized and the sensor monitors it for leaks etc. the tank must come out as it is mounted on top of fuel pump module

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank .
  3. Remove the fuel tank vapor pressure sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
  1. Install the fuel tank vapor pressure sensor.
  2. Install the fuel tank vapor pressure sensor electrical connector.
  3. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank .
  4. Lower the vehicle.
Thanks.

Before repairing or disconnecting any of the fuel lines or fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spraying of fuel, causing personal injury or a fire hazard.
NOTE: The 55 gallon aft-of-axle fuel tank (9002) is shown; the 35 gallon aft-of-axle fuel tank is similar.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure; refer to Section 310-00A .
  1. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank; refer to Section 310-00A .
  1. Raise and support the vehicle; refer to Section 100-02 .
  1. NOTE: In this illustration, the vehicle body is shown removed for clarity.
