Coolant explosion out of water outlet on a 2000 Intrepid. top of plastic housing came off, can this be glued on? Or does entire water outlet have to be replaced. No bolts there as it looks like a molded part on the rectangular top.

What would make coolant come out of top of bleeder valve on water housing on a dodge intrepid 2001 2.7

The same thing happene to me. i just replaced bleeder valve with a bolt. Take your old bleeder valve to hardware or auto parts store to see which type of threading you should get first. Goodluck.

2002 dodge intrepid, 2.7 L engine, the top of the Engine Coolant Outlet Flange blew off. What does this part do and what could cause it to literally blow off (top blew off from body of flange)?

that is the water outlet housing. It is really common for this to happen. It has probably been leaking for quite some time (usually a bunch of dried up coolant around that area).

They are fairly easy to replace and the parts are usually readily available. I'm pretty sure NAPA caries them as well as the dealer.

You will need to remove the intake plenum to get at one of the bolts that hols it in place. Its not that big of a deal to remove. Just remember to replace the plenum gasket and torque the bolts to the proper spec.

If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.

Coolent leaking around tube that inserts into the outflow water module(plastic) the other end of tube runs to plastic overflow container. what seals the tube into this plastic part??,,and why is it...

The entire outlet housing very commonly breaks and starts leaking. they even sell them at Oreilly's for around $20. There is a O Ring on the metal tube that seals it to the plastic outlet housing. It works very well to put Silicone sealer all over the end of the tube and push it inside this housing. Just let it sit for a half a day to dry before filling the anti freeze. Sometimes just replacing this O Ring will NOT seal it
