I had a 1997 s10 4*4 with the 2.8 v6.
mine do that I had to pull the gas tank replace fuel filter plus had to take undo the line from the intake and blow air thru it. Make sure all u're filter are replaced and y u have the tank down replace the fuel pump. I hope this helps u
I don't think you can on that vehicle-probably not a code, anyway. Check the fuel pump relay, it may be stuck on. Should be located in the power distribution box under hood. Pull it out-pump should stop-swap in a different relay to test. If pump still runs on with new relay, the wiring to the relay needs checked.
the dash sound's like a fuse, check the fuse box under the hood and in the door jamb on the side of the dash, also check your fuel filter and fuel pump, im betting on the pump because i have a 2001 chevy blazer that has had two replaced and it has 233000km on it!
Most likely a bad connector on relay or the fuel sock needs to be replaced. if the sock is plugged it would cause the fuel pump to work hard and cause it to heat the relay and make it hot and removing it will cause it not to run. check the connectors to the relay see if they are opened up in the female socket if they are use a dental pick to close them up with. otherwise replace fuel pump and sock at that age with the alcohol in fuel it's killed the pump and sock.
to check and see if its the fuel pump. Have someone stand by the open door (where thrn fuel is dispensed into car (gas tank). then have someone turn over the car, just turn over, do not try to start. the person by the gas tank should be able to hear if the pump is kicking on. just a start, but we used this advice and found our new pump is winding and working and its now something else.
An easy way to check to see if the fuel pump is running is to take off the gas cap and stick a piece of hose down the fiiler pipe. Listen through the hose while somebody turns the ignition on . Fuel pump should run for 5 seconds and shut off.
