Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse
I have had my eclipse for about 6 months and have driven it 3000 miles with no major problem except that my passenger side low-beam will not come on (with high beams it works just fine) and I have looked at the relays, the bulb and the socket (all have been replaced, or checked out as fine). I am only getting 1 volt of power over at the bulb socket with the low beams, but 12 when the high beams are on. any ideas?
This sounds like a wiring problem. I know it has been documented that the '01 eclipse headlight connectors have had issues with arcing and this problem sounds like the wiring may just be shorting instead of arcing. I would recommend starting at the bulb socket and working backwards along the wiring, looking for shorts along the way. It would also be important to note if your low beams do not work at all, versus working occasionally or even sometimes flickering while driving.
