Fuel pump? Can you hear it run when the key turns on? Squirt a little gas in the throttle and see if it will run for more than a few seconds. Check it out.

Its' a module problem. The computer also should be diagnosing a trouble code. The main computer turns over control to the module within 5 seconds of a startup. Check your connectors for corrosion.

Autozone or Oreillys may be able to test the module to verify this for you. Another system that works like yours is the Cold Start circuit. The TPS takes over after the Cold Start circuit stops. The TPS is the throttle control or throttle position sensor. The TPS regulates both fuel and spark. Good Luck on your repair.

Ford escort 1996 1.8i - running on 3 cylinders, changed leads have spark

Determine what cylinder is misfiring and do a compression test on that cylinder. Compare it with a cylinder that is not misfiring. You should have no more than 20% difference between the good cylinder and the bad cylinder. If it is low on compression, suspect a burn valve or bad valve seat... and it will require cylinder head repair. If it is good on compression, then look for a faulty injector or some other reason for the misfire on the dead cylinder.

Not without more testing.
It could be a fuel problem or something mechanical like a valve.
You would do a compression test next to verify all 4 cylinders have normal compression.
If they do, and that 4th plug wire was providing spark to the plug, I would expect you to find something going on with the injector.

Number 3 and 4 are not firing from coil on 2002 subaru outback 2.5

its faulty coil.

Get the compression test done on each coil.these will let you know if its faulty coil or not.

It can be issue with spark plugs or faulty spark plugs. Also get the compression test done for cylinders. If any of cylinder shows low compression then required, then that particular cylinder will cause misfire.

Also get obd codes scanned, the error code will let you know which cylinder is misfiring or all cylinders are misfiring.

I have an 1997 escort and its misfiring checked spark plugs 3 of them are fine the other one has oil in the well of it whats wrong with it.

perform a dry and then a wet compression test. if compression is greater on the wet then you have a bad ring in that cylinder. If compression stays the same then possible bad valve stem seal.

No compression at all on a ford escort 1.6 16 v

hi there hope iI can help
well you must already have a compression tester
so all you need to do now is run one test
this test will tell you if you have a bad head or if your rings in your cylinder are bad
take your spark plug out and pour a small amount of marvel mystery oil into the spark plug whole
now pressure test that cylinder.
If you still don't get any pressure your head is bad
if your pressure slowly comes up you know you have bad rings
hope this helps

Escort overheated , we replaced antifreeze that le...

Run a compression test, alot of times the engine overheats and blows the headgasket, once the spark plugs are removed watch the holes and see if antifreeze shoots out of them while preforming the compression test. More than likey this is the problem. The head can be removed and pressure checked to ensure it has no cracks and then it will need to be resurfaced prior to reinstallation. Hope this helps, let me know.

How to find tdc on 95 ford escort 1.9

Using a compression tester in the cylinder all the way to the pass side, turn the engine over by hand until you see pressure rise. This gives you the start of the compression stroke. Remove the compression tester. (If you don't have one, put a finger the the spark plug hole and wait until you feel pressure. (Do not use the battery to turn it over, only do it by hand.) Once you are starting the compression stroke, put a thin but long screw driver or anything straight but easy to put in the spark plug that first cylinder.

Again, turning over by hand, turn it until the screw driver is at its highest point. You are at TDC.

Hope this helps
