I am having trouble with my 1998 yukon. She starts good but when you gives her the gas fast she dies out. the garage has checked a number of things such as fuel pressure, catilactic converter, EGR valve, and put new wires ,plugs ,distributor button and cap and shaft. On the highway as long as you dont force on her you would never say there is a thing wrong with her. Please help.

Check to make sure all your chassis and body grounds are good. If they are not grounded properly weird things happen.

Rpms go up and down when I start the car

I would go to Autozone and ask them to check your computer for trouble codes. I would expect a Throttle Position Sensor, or EGR code to be present.

I have a 2002 GMC Yukon xl, every time you give gas it dies, and then wont start for a lil while, what can this be

Could be low on fuel pressure, or a problem with the throttle position sensor. But if the sensor was faulty you should have a trouble code in the computer and the check engine light should be on.

2003 GMC Yukon will start but idles rough and then dies when you give it gas. What could it be?

does check engine light come on? that best place to start, most major auto stores will scan for free, and possibly clogged fuel filter, bad gas

Starts then dies immediatly

try giving a little gas when starting. If you get it to rev up and the only problem it dies with your foot off the gas then clean the throttle body. It may or may not help. Then replace the idle air control valve.

1998 beetle will start and idle, but will die when accelerated

When was the last time you had your fuel filter replaced ?? Sounds like the engine may be starved for gas because of a clogged fuel filter. If you have no record of having been replaced, this may be the least expensive place to begin, but be careful the quick disconnects on the fuel filter can be difficult to push in. Also, the fuel lines will be pressurized when they are disconnected, and could spray gas into your face if your not careful. If you damage the disconnects on the fuel lines you will need to have the lines replaced, so be gentle.
