Try putting it up or down, if you hear the motor running then your problem is the mechanism. most probably its the cable.

2005 Navigator driver side window started making a grinding noise, and moving slowly. It is now half-way up, and wont go up any further. It will go down, but I don't want it stuck all the way down so...

What is happening is your Window Regulator (the Framework that raises and lowers the window evenly.. a series of pulley's and Cables) is getting worn out. It needs to be lubricated and part of the problem will go away. The Motor is what moves the Cables....

SO either the Cables need to be lubricated or the Regulator is getting worn out...

Montana 2002 driver window stuck

window stuck, this may be due to a bad window motor or window regulator, see if you can move the window by hand, does it go up or down? if it does not then you will still need to remove door panel and look at regulator to see if cables are jammed up, if they are then replace the regulator and motor as one, if cables are good and nothing is broken then test motor for power and ground while operating the switch, this will tell you if it is the switch or motor,

How to remove the Left Regulator Window Arm Screw * Passanger-side / Window Stuck Fully Down * ?

This procedure may help. At least, you will know if the motor is good or not.
Set a spare battery by the door and use jumper wires to connect to the motor. Pull the motor connector off, and connect the jumper wires-doesn't matter which side of connector- Does motor sound or operate? If nothing, then reverse the jumper leads, and see if motor operates in the opposite direction? If window motor is good. leave windowt up, and look for broken wires to the switch in both door openings, where breaks usually occur. If motor has nothing with jumper wires tried both ways, then you know the motor is out.
There should be a way to manually get the window up, but I don't know. To remove regulator I believe in most cases, the glass is removed first, then access regulator fasteners to remove regulator and motor. Good luck.

My spring sprung on my 96 grand am window regulatorhow do I get it tight again? and how do I replace the window motor?

You can not fix the regulator, I've tried. Get the regulator and motor together. there are two bolts that are for the window, there are four for the regulator and three for the motor. The motor is attached to the regulator so you don't have to remove it. Get the window down to access the bolts, once you get them out, then push the window up and wedge it into place. the regulator has 4 bolts, two on each side of the door. remove these. Remove the 3 bolts for the motor and fish the whole unit out of the door. Then reinstall.

1994 driver side window gets stuck going up or down and must be pushed/pulled while activating the motor to work. is it off the track or is the motor bad. The motor still works, but when the window gets...

The motor may be weakened due to wear, but the problem is more likely mechanical.

Some window regulator assemblies use what's called regulator control tape to convert motor rotation into linear motion to move the window in the track. Over time the tape deteriorates and binds, or breaks.

A thorough visual inspection of the regulator assembly will be required to determine the ultimate problem. The door panel has to be removed for this process.
