Question about 1997 BMW 7 Series
Bmw 740 il key broke in half at remote part. Car wont start...is the key part of the computer to start it?
Yes it is, but just having the key near the ignition is enough to start the car. If you can turn the ignition with the broken key, hold the broken part in your hand and see if it will start. Hopefully the chip isn't damaged. I know that when GM keys are replaced, they glue the old key under the dash to make it work. Hope this helps.
