If I understand what you are saying, the car is overheating and you are not getting coolant to the engine block. If that is the case, drain the antifreeze after the engine cools and replace the thermostat - IF there is no sign of a leak from the water pump. If you have noticed small (or large amounts) of coolant under the car and ignored it for a few days, the water pump could be bad. if the temp gauge has been showing a fast rise in temp followed by a sudden cool down, then most likely the thermostat is bad.

Water not circulating radiator engine running hot

Hi ytabaja97,
Sounds like the thermostat on the hose that goes to the top of the motor is stuck closed, or does not open completely. Try replacing the thermostat. Make sure it is correct for your Jeep, and that the seals on the thermostat housing are replaced correctly.
Hope you have no more overheating problems.

My jeep grand cherokee tells me to check gages when i turn on my jeep on but i dont have the manual to check what are my gages

The instruments on your dashboard are your gauges. Checking them means to make note of abnormal readings that indicate a potential failure or an actual problem. Oil pressure should be above 20psi (usually between 30 and40) charge rate should be around 13.5 volts and temp warmed up and running should be around 200-210 degrees (f). If anything reads much differently you have something that needs to be checked by your shop.

Take the Jeep to an AutoZone or O'Reilly's and have them read the codes. WRITE THEM DOWN, and report them back here, and we can help you more. I have specific experience with a 2003 Jeep Cherokee, so should be able glean some light on this for you.

My two thousand jeep starsts then shuts off engine light comes on check gages what are the gages

You probably recently had a new key made, and the Jeep ignition is chipped. The key has a sensor, and must be programmed to match the ignition. Some will start till you put it in gear, then it shuts off.
