Your symptom is common to both fuel pump and crank position sensor partial failure. When it shuts off if you cannot hear the pump running when you turn the key back on, likely it's the pump. (they bind when hot and work again after cooled down or sometimes will also resume working if you bang on the bottom of the tank) Otherwise the problem is likely to be the cps which should be tested with an ohmeter while it's not working (instructions for that and all other components are in both haynes and chilton manuals).

Testimonial: "thanks for the advise ,will check your points out and give you feedback, i was told by jeep service station that they will have to put the car on their diagnostic computer machine to pin point the problem but it is a costly affair, what should i do?"

Most shops charge a minimum of $60 for one hour diagnostic time (most charge more). You can have a free basic code scan done at most larger parts stores. If you don't have a manual, get a chiltons as they are far better than haynes with electrical info. A multi-meter is about $30 at walmart. Unless you don't keep the vehicle both will pay for themselves. It takes time to do diagnostics part by part but you can and will find the problem.
Always test with a fully charged battery and always check all fuses before testing further. Read the part description etc 'till you understand how it works and what you are testing. The computer reads all the sensors and determines what to do based on the information it gets from them. Keep in mind that a few sensors that have not failed but are substantially close to being out of range can cause problems.Check what I mentioned first though as both are fairly common problems.
    Good Luck!

I have a 2000 opel astra, serviced starter ,fitted again, now car start but switch off again, and then wont start immidiate again, please help

Sounds like the wires may not be hooked correctly on the starter; maybe one was left off. Or you may have blown the fuseable link in the cable. Check all the connections to verify they are correct, then verify there is power reaching the starter to verify the fuseable link isn't blown.

1993 chevy cavalier 2.2 engine cuts off when cold or hot

Someone will need to check it over when it fails to start. You need to know if it is not getting fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs.

My 96 ford taurus revs high when starting then works it way from 1500 or more down to 800 but fluctuates from 800 to a little over 1000. When putting car in rverse or drive from park engine revs up to...

You need to clean the IAC again and also the throttle valve and bore, use only CRC brand Throttle body cleaner. After they are thoroughly cleaned disconnect the battery for 5 min's and then drive the car in varying condition for a few days. If that doesn't cure the issue you have more serious problems and will need a scan tool to look into the readings from the MAF, TPS and ECT sensors. High idle cold start is normal then slowly dropping after a few minutes. I assume you never had a check engine light. Correct?

I am assuming this is while you are driving the vehicle? The light should come on and turn off at start up, as the ABS computer runs a self check. If the issue presents itself while driving, it is likely a wheel speed sensor that is starting to fail. If the computer looses the signal it will turn on the dash light, when it sees a signal again it will turn the light off. Could be a broken wire between the chassis and wheel speed sensor or a bad sensor. If you can, check the ABS codes, they should be stored.
