Would you like to try an explain a little better ? If the engine doesn't spin when you turn the key to start ,what good would pouring fuel into the engine through the throttle plate? Plus if the engine does spin when turning the key to start why in heII would you bang on the starter ! I would say from your post you don't know a heII of a lot about cars ! Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop before you hurt yourself .

SOURCE: I don't here the fuel pump ever kick on in my 1990 Ford F150, and I tested all of the fuses and they are good. I was thinking the relay for the fuel pump might be bad -- any suggestions?

It's under your hood, in one of those boxes, and should be marked. Your pump won't cut in if it's fried either. Check to see if there is power at the pump. Maybe you just have a loose wire. You can always hope!

Do you have a keyless entry? You could try to enter your vehicle using the keypad on the drivers side door, This should turn off the anti-theft security.

SOURCE: 1990 Ford F150 won't start/Sometimes will start

The heart of the fuel/ignition system is the EEC. Other components involved are the fuel and EEC relays. You could have corroded cables causing the intermittent problem. I'd start with the relays. Remove the connector cables and spray clean the connections. If no resolution try turning the ignition switch on and off while another person feels the relays to see if they are operating (also can listen for a clicking sound from them). If all come up OK then remove the TFI connector on the distributer and clean it too. Reconnect it. A voltmeter or 12 volt circuit tester would also help by probing the various 12 volt points at the relays etc but you will need a circuit diagram to find these points as well as know how to read them. The whole point is to eliminate the least costly components first. The EEC is the most expensive component. That's why I would not replace it until I was sure it wasn't something else. Shotgunning the problem can be expensive because most parts places wont allow the return of electrical parts or will charge return fees. The EEC is a mini-computer and can be damaged by electrical surges etc.

2012 ford focus stopped running while idling, wont restart without putting fuel in the carburator then stops again. what could be th cause?

The fact that it runs with fuel introduced through the throttle body indicates that you have air, compression, and spark. The only thing you are missing is fuel. The primary culprit would be the fuel pump. However, the vehicle seems a bit young for this problem. But the other items are obscure as well. All the injectors would have to faulty to blame them. The PCM is also a possibility, but unlikely. There may be one or two relays that affect the fuel delivery system that you can check and possibly replace.

My 2000 dodge dakota wont start. I replaced the battery and still wont start. The lights are strong and it turns but wont start. What could be wrong?

Two basics; fuel supply and ignition. Neither of these are difficult to check but for in-hand assistance, a service manual is a good investment and we like Haynes:

200 kia sportage, wont start wont even click. Took out the battery and put it in my other car, it starts it, kia does nothing,.lights work, all electrical things work, no starting , now what?

check for fuel and spark. if no fuel, spray starting fluid in throttle body. if it starts then quits, its a fuel problem.then check fuel pump relay and or fuse to pump. have a good day !! you may be able to switch relays with another one to see if thats it. but the relays have to be the same number as the old one.

My 2000 ford contour wont start. Engine cranks, but seems no spark. I checked plugs and coil. Fuel pump kicks on and shuts off after primed. It just got harder and harder to start, finally it wont start.

Have you changed the fuel filter.

Your pump may be priming but the pressure could be against a clogged filter.

You might want to check the fuel pressur at the rail.
It might be a fuel pressure regulator problem

97 f-150 wont start sometimes when hot

Check for spark. Also listen for the fuel pump to kick on or spray starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it starts. If the fuel pump isn't kicking on then its your fuel pump and its located in the tank
