Hi you should have a dipstick to the right hand side of the engine at the back, pull this out and fill it from there, be sure to have the engine running when you do this as most people fill it with the engine stopped, this is wrong for an auto transmission and use dexron2 oil...hope this helps

How do i check tranmision fluid on a 2004 ford exployer xlt. It has no dipstick to check level or to add fluid.

On transmission pan drain plug will have a small hex screw in the center of drain plug, with engine running and in park remove little center screw, if fluid comes out, transmission level is good, of no fluid come out, will have to pump fluid in that same little plug hole, till fluid starts to come out.

How to check tranmision iol

Look under the hood, there should be a red little handle that says atf on the drivers side, toward the front of the engine compartment. Now, with the car idleing in park, pull out the red handle and wipe off the dip stick, then reinsert the stick in the transmission fill tube and pull it back out.The fluid should be toward the top hole on the stick, or the "h" mark on the stick.

I need change tranmision oil in a tranmision standar

If you have a standard trans, it doesn't need changing.

If yours is auto trans, you need a big pan to catch the oil because you will have to remove the bottom pan on the transmission. Also change the filter while you are at it.

Tranmision on 2002 grand am started shifting hard only 50,000

If your unit has a vacuum modulator on it (small can with a vacuum line on radiator side of trans) check that the vacuum hose has vacuum and that there is no trans fluid in it...any fluid that is on the vacuum side of the part indicates that it has failed. That is the usual cause of hard shifting. Another item less serviceable would be an accumulator spring.( You need a manual for those and some are internal.)

TO CHECK TRANMISION OIL YOU NEED TO OPEN A PLUG AT THE LEFT AXEL AT THE TRANSMISION THE TOP PLUG TO VERIFIED LEVEL AND THE LOWER PLUG TO DRAIN TRANSMISION OIL.

Tranmision leaking

When all else fails, pour it down the dipstick tube. After verifying through the proper procedures how much fluid you need of course, overfilling can cause problems of its own.
