Car died out yesterday an wont start

Checked compression reading. there like 120-150. is that normal? my car wont start?

Thats normal. if car died, its either spark or fuel. spray some staring fluid in the air filter box. 1 second sqirt, it it runs and dies, its a fuel problem, ck fuel pressure.

I've got a 1999 Dodge van with 5.9l, it backfired while driving down the interstate yesterday lost all power and died. it will now turn over but will not crank. not getting any fire?

Maybe you need to check your timing chain? Does the cranking rpms sound faster than normal, if so, it sounds like you lost compression.
You need spark--proper fuel pressure--and compression. You can do some tests find out what your missing. Any applicable trouble codes?

Engine died while driving on the freeway, now only cranks but wont turn over/

As with any no start problem, have you checked for spark at the plugs and normal fuel pressure at the injectors ?
Does it crank with normal compression ?

We have a 2000 Saturn SL1 we started it yesterday and it died went to start it again and it wouldn't start it he security light came on the file gage won't move but it has a full tank of gas

Many times the lock cylinder fails to detect the key and so it shuts the car off. Other times the master relay goes bad which happens on older Hondas and it can cause the same problem. I would locate the master relay, tap it with a wrench and see if it starts. If so its the relay and relatively cheap to replace. If its the lock cylider then its much more costly. If the key liggt blinks normal when you start the car but then it dies out randomly or wont start, then its the lock cylinder failing to read the security key. Also remove any thing attached to the key that may be heavy.

What problems will you have before you blow a head casket

before???? (2.5L , v6/) i have a 04 GV, 2.5L with full factory docs.
casket gasket, , it is close. when it blows to the casket .
no cranks
or now starts.
my guess, car wont start.
1 check all fuses in both boxes. EFI dont run with them blown,
2 check compression, if bad, 150psi on all, is normal, wide open throttle checked only.
if compression is good, the gasket is mostly good
there 2 more tests in this regard, 1: exh, in rad neck tester, and rad leak down tester) the exh, method sure can warn of early head gasket failures.
3: check for spark at all cylinders, not just 1 and check timing same.
4: ok engine will start now in test fuel for 3sec and die or run.
3sec. only means you lost fueling
runs, now means engine was flooded.
ever do the 60,000 mile tunup?

What have you checked so far ?
With any no-start situation you need to know if you have spark to the plugs, fuel to the injectors, and normal compression.

Will turn over wont start getting plenty of gas new built 302 motor ran fine for last 6 months yesterday it died at a stop sign still wont crank had to tow it to the house

If I am reading this correctly, the engine cranks but does not start. It was running, died and will not start. I would be inclined to think it is a pickup coil in the disturbutor or the ingition control module. These are very common parts to fail in older ford products.

Check the timing belt (symptoms are faster than normal cranking and very low compression readings)

There are so many things that could have caused this problem to occur. Here are some of my suggestions:

1. Blockage in the air supply to mix with the fuel. Throttle body might need cleaning

2. Compression in the cylinders might be low, probably due to large ring gaps. If you can get your hands on a compression tester to check the compression values of each cylinder, so as to ensure they are in operable range. By the way, was the vehicle smoking heavily when in operation?

3. Is your battery giving a good turn over of the engine? A weak battery can cause an engine not to start. The engine would turn over but just won't start. (Is the engine turning over when you try starting, or does the engine not responding when turning the key?)

4. Igniter in the distributor might need electrical checks to ensure proper electrical circuitry. Liaise with an auto-electrican about this.
