Hi the most common cause of over heating is going to be either the rad fan has packed up but you should hear this when the engine gets hot if the fan is electronic and it dont start up then the chances are you need to replace the temp switch for the rad.
now the next likely cause will be the thermostat this is going to be the most likely cause as long as the fan is working.

But you need to beware that if the fan is working and the thermostat is fine then it could be that your water pump needs replacing due to fault or even leaking so check for any water leaks.

failing any of those being at fault the only other problem is going to be the head gasket but this would be last resort and the hardest job to get fixed.

you can usually check the thermostat by 2 ways the first is to get the engine hot and then switch the heater on it hottest setting then if you dont get any hot air coming out then this would be a sign the thermostat has gone, how ever if you do get heat then this could still mean the thermostat could have stuck only slightly open, so the only real way of testing it would be to take the thermostat out and have a look at it in its closed possition then boil some water and place the thermostat into the water for about 30sec to 1min then take it out and have a look to see if it has opened up, if it has then put it back in and start looking at things like water pump or water leak.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Need to check that your cooling fans come on. Then verify with your hands that both radiator hose's are the same temp. after it reaches normal operating temperature. If that's okay, then your thermostat is working. Check for leaks with a pressure tester and you may also consider doing a block test for exhaust gasses in you cooling stsem which means the head gaskets may be leaking. Good luck.

97 seville overheats slowly and loses quite a bit of anti-freeze but not smoking,or mixing in the oil and not steaming uot of the exhast.

My first guess would be the cooling system has some air in it from the radiator job, or the thermostat may be sticking.
You say it is loosing coolant, so you are putting coolant in every day or week ? Is it loosing it on the ground when it overheats ?
If you are adding coolant but not seeing it boil over, it could be burning it and you would not see smoke from the exhaust.

The motor turns over but it doesn't start someone suggested the fuel swith might be off what do i do

Hi, my 95 town car would start fine when cold but after it had run for awhile it might or might not start. After supporting Ford for awhile it was found that a relay switch to the Power train control module was bad. This is located under the hood and the heat from the engine will sometimes cause it to overheat and not allow the engine to start until it had cooled off. I once had to wait four hours. The part cost approx. 7-9 dollars. The problem was only found when the car would not start when at the Ford garage.

Engine fails to accelerate and transmission shifts hard in hot weather. On hot days above 85 after the car has run awhile it stops running well. The coolant fan is running seemingly at an excessive speed....

check engine coolant temp sensor, its detect engine overheats that command the computer to engine shutdown for protection, try to replace a good one
