Will take some works take out the whole steering column and take it to car key repair shop or take the car to the key shop they can take it out another change the steering column comes with the key or take a pliers pull it hard but might damage the ignition. some junkyard area they have a small repair shop outside take it there you might save a lot of money.

Have a honda CRV 2006, put the wrong key in ignition now ican start or unlock the car with correct key. what damage have i done?

Sounds like you damaged the key, not the ignition. If you had, then the key would still work in the door, right? If you have a spare key, try using that, if not, take the ownership papers and V.I.N. # to your local dealership, they can probably give you a temporary key, or order you a replacement. Other than that, you may need to replace your ignition and locks - which the dealer can tell you the cost of.

Cant get my key to turn to start my truck

Could be the lock cylinder, or something jamming the linkage in the column.
Did you try a spare key ?

1996 Renault Clio Club 1.2 Petrol. Batteries replaced in ignition key. Unable to start car. Battery ok, engine turns over ok but will not fire up. Prior to replacing the batteries there was no proble

You have either put the batteries in wrong or you have lost programming, see the dealer if you are 100% sure the new batteries where not installed incorrectly. What about the spare key???

When shutting car off it will shut off but you cant remove the key it stays in the on position, but it only does it intermittently

Is your key bent, worn or otherwise physically compromised. Do you have a spare that you can use to see if it too exhibits the same problem. If it does your ignition may be the problem - if not have a new key cut from the spare and discard the problem key.

Cant take key out of ignition

Put the thing in neutral and then back to park and try removing the key.

Turn your steering wheel a little to the right and left and try removing the key.

Push your foot on the brake and turn the steering wheel a little to the left and right and try removing the key.

After you remove the key put a little graphite powder in the keyhole to make removing the key easier. Also, get your spare key and see if it can easily be inserted and removed. If your spare key works like a champ, then your main key should be compared to the spare key to see if its defective. If the main key is defective, then take your spare key and make a copy of it at the locksmith shop.

The car cant start.its showing imobiliser activated on the dash board .v.w golf 4. 2001 model 2 litre engen

Thry to start it with a spare key, if it starts than problem is in your key, otherwise it's maybe your ignition lock not recognizes your key code.

Will not start dash reeds key error

V50 2005 and similar year have this problem.

The ignition key has two parts:
- remote control (with battery)
- RFID identification (without battery)

Car has two separate locks.
The upper lock is where you put the key inside and turn to ignite.
The lower lock is right at the steering wheel which electronically locks the wheel.

The "upper lock" sometimes refuses to recognize the key. It might be a bad contact or bad mechanical placement. Typical problem for this car.
Try hitting the dashboard and the lock with your fist few times (not too much!). If there was only a bad contact, the car may start a few times.

If you have dropped the ignition key from 1m of height (or higher) to the concrete, the RFID module inside may not have survived. Try with spare key.

If nothing helps, take the car to the volvo shop to change the upper lock. That was my case...
The lock looks like this:
