First of all if you had an electrical issue with the trans you would set codes. You would need to retrieve these codes to proceed.. There is no room for guessing. Generally when the trans will not ingage in any gear then the transmission would most likley need to be rebuilt. When you unhook the electrical connector to the trans it should still go into gear. It just wont shift from second gear. The electrical part only operates solenoids depending on the load on the engine.
I'm assuming you allready checked the fluid level which would give you a no engage issue.

Now if you really want to diagnose this yourself go to mitchell1diy and for ten bucks you'l have access to the same data most independant shops have

Golf Gti Mk5 DSG on normal driving will fall into Neutral, or not find a gear for some times secs/mins - codes say electrical issues. What electrical elements do I need to check or could cause?

the electrical issues could be
wiring and connections
transmission control module
torque converter servo/solenoid problem
IT will be a electronic fault and if you have the codes then maybe we could get close to the servo/ solenoid that is the problem

I have codes p1765 po753 and 743 on a 1997 Dodge Dakota 4x4 That occurred after replacing replacing relays for the trailer light in the relay box.

All those codes refer to the transmission on an automatic gearbox. Looks like there's a fault on the gearbox electrics.

P1765=Transmission 12 volt supply relay control circuit.
P0753=Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical
P0743=Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical

Nissan maxima code po780 2005

code p 0780 refers to gear selection--shift malfunction===causes --wiring --TR( transmission range) sensor--shift solenoids ---transmission mechanical fault
take it to an accredited auto transmission specialist shop for an exact diagnosis of the fault
I seriously doubt that you have a transmission box mechanical fault so get a second opinion if a replacement transmission is suggested

Now i dont know a lot about automatics especially modern ones with all this fancy electronics thats used nowdays but i think its a fault with the temperature sensor for the gearbox.But where its located and what it looks like i have no idea it could even be mounted inside the gearbox .Sorry not a very good answer from a mechanic but?? very few of our europeon cars come with auto transmission .Evan when i do know whats wrong i cannot buy the parts for the gearbox as only re-con boxes supplied by the dealer so best advice is to try a specialist in auto box repairs only .PS some of my best students when i used to teach mechanics many moons ago were the girls so no excuses like iam only a girl please

P0885 TCU circuit open .it only happens on cold days and I clear it with a hand held analyser

OK!... would you kindly let US know -- WHAT MODEL/YEAR?
???
The HIVEC Automaic Transmission supplies the power to the solenoid valves by way of a control relay. When the TCM sets the relay to ON, the relay operates and the battery power is supplied to all the sonenoid valves. When the TCM sets the relay to OFF, all solenoid valve power is shut off and the transmission is held in the 3rd gear position. (Fail Safe Mode )
OK!.. seems (to me) you have a RELAY failure -- if not, you'll get back to us again (soon) I assume.

Hello i can assist you your your fault code you have supplied indicates your pressure control solenoid "C" is malfunctioning this will cause your transmission not to shift properly and will stay stuck in separate gears including 3rd gear.I recommend taking your vehicle into a transmission specialist for proper repair and transmission service this is a delicate job if you have not performed such transmission repairs.You should not be operating your vehicle with this control solenoid malfunctioning.

Hi, I have a Mercedes A170CDi Auto that has gone into limp-mode on the gearbox. I have had a diagnostics check done and it shows a P1841 Current fault code which is a Solenoid Valve Y3/7y2 3 shift fault....

The code is consistent with an electrical short within the shift motor solenoid. These solenoids open and close fluid passageways within the gearbox that cause clutches engage and disengage with the planetary gear system that make up an automatic gear box. Auto boxes are very involved pieces of machinery and best left to experts so I am afraid it needs a trip to the Mercedes dealership or a good auto transmission depot. It could be that the gear box can be easily renovated by fitting a new solenoid in which case an overhaul rather than replacement will be the cheaper option. Since you have the code for the fault I would phone around for repair quotes.

Auto transmission will not shift gears

Get diagnostics done and if you will get code P0741 - This trouble code is about damper clutch, which improves fuel economy by matching power transmission effectiveness of automatic transmission Damper clutch consists of control valve and solenoid valve which converts electric signal to hydraulic signal by the TCU signal. Corresponding code will be displayed under following conditions when damper clutch is operated form TCU lock-up output time. -when the difference between engine revolution and input shaft revolution has been below 160 RPM. Torque converter solenoid (TCU) is the last thing you should look at to replace, the cause of its failure might be in a different area like worn seals. Nevertheless it is a serious malfunction of a gearbox as further usage may end in a complete gearbox failure and the only solution you will be left with is to rebuild the gearbox or get a new one. Before you start buying parts you should closlely inspect the inner cover seals for uneven wear or possible damage, short cicuit will be caused by fluid passed onto electric connection,
