The more common failure is one of the backup sensors, testing with a scanner will indicate which sensor in the system has failed and causing the Park aid to not work. You must have this info to test the system. Please rate this answer for me THankyou RJ

Testimonial: "Very helpful. I did not know that if one sensor went out the others would not respond. Is that correct? If so, how can I identify the sensor that is bad? Thanks, DC"

Yes that is correct , the computer turns off the system in the event one sensor fails to prevent it from giving you incorrect info. The computer monitors the inputs received and dissables the pam(park aid module) this lets you know there is a fault and need to have the system serviced. Thankyou RJ

THank you very much for the info. I will try to isolate the correct sensor.

This involves the front oxygen sensor on Bank 1. This code indicates that the heated oxygen sensor reading incorrectly
You will likely not notice any drivability problems.A code P0132 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • The oxygen sensor heater circuit is shorted out
  • The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed (less likely)
The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.If the code comes back, the problem is more than likely the front Bank 1 oxygen sensor. You will likely wind up replacing it but you should also consider these possible solutions:
  • Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
  • Check the voltage of the oxygen sensor

I have a 1996 GMC C1500 Suburban. Service engine light is on. Free diagnostic at Advance Auto Parts says "bank 1 too rich". Replaced mass airflow sensor, idle air control valve, all 4 O2 sensors,...

A vacuum hose cut will cause a lot of symptoms, A code indicating a rich conditions indicates a lack of air, or too much fuel. A dirty air filter or a leaking injector will cause this. A faulty O2 sensor will also cause this condition.

P2138 code for a 2004 dodge ram 5.7 liter

Were the APP codes there BEFORE they replaced the BCM? APP codes usually are an indicator the throttle body needs to be replaced. As a precaution, some recommend to replace the throttle body AND the sensor on the gas pedal together. Unfortunately, this is a dealer only repair most o the time, since the ECM will have to be flashed to sync the new sensors.

2004 gto ls1 motor is running rich and dtc code is P0131

that would be your best bet it is very hard to diagnose a injected v8 with out the right equipment but speaking from experience ( due to the fact we in Australia built these cars) the oxy sensors cause all sorts of problems and swapping them over does't necercarly prove much
