Question about 2004 Pontiac Grand Am
Have a pontiac Grand Am 04 3.4 eng. The car wont start when it sits in the sun all day and is only in the summer time. They have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and now battery. Have never heard of a car not starting when it sits in the sun. Problem is not constant either. Starts most of the time but has a chance to strand the driver.
I had a Honda Civic that did the same thing, I replaced the multi-relay (which has the computer power relay and fuel pump relay in it) in the car and it never did it again. Your car should have a seperate fuel pump relay, in the black box under the hood. You might also want to have the control module tested after the car sits out in the sun and won't start. Auto Zone can test them. I would also check for fuel at the test fitting on the fuel rail when it won't start. It maybe the relay.
