Question about 1996 Ford Taurus
Disconnect the plug going to the compressor. Using a test light with the car on and a/c switch on, check it for power. If it lights up (harness side) Then you may have an open in the clutch coil circuit. Make sure a good a/c mechanic does the repair due to the high pressure's in the system and having the proper charge afterwards.
