I need to replace the bonnet mascot (3 pointed star in a circle) how does the old one come off and new one fit

Hi i replaced mine , but this was long time ago, hope its still the same, all it is a case of doing is popping off the sound proof from the front of the hood/bonnet, and there should be ( if memory serves me correctly ) a 13mm or 1/2inch hex nut, remove that and it is sprung so be careful to undo it slowly once the remains of the old one is removed then just pop the new one in put the spring on ( if not fitted to the new one) with the washer and bolt back up till nut stops turning, then replace the poppers in the sound proofing and your good to go, should take about half an hour or quicker...hope this helps and is still the same

What was the last year to allow jaguars to have leaping cat on hood?

In Europe, It was around 1975 that all risky, projecting objects, including the famous Jaguar 'leaping cat' bonnet mascot (US: 'hood ornament'), were banned from all vehicles sold in Europe because of the potentially deadly harm they could do to pedestrians. In the US, the company decided to eliminate it, I think it was 2007, now it is an option, you have to pay extra if you want it. Please see Newsweek article

Bonnet misaligned can I adjust ?

The hood latch, that's bolted to the front support, where the hood locks down should be your adustment of how far the hood closes down. THis should be loosened and move up and down to raise or lower the final resting position of the bonnet. Let me know if this is not the case. Thanks, TT.
