Question about 1997 Pontiac Firebird
Did you check all the fuses and do an error code (DTC) check? If all is well, then something in the wiring harness may be faulty. However, the BCM can also be the problem, but if so, you should be getting a DTC about it.

SOURCE: Replaced BCM now radio locked?
You will have to take it to the dealer and have them run a radio setup with the Tech2. The VIN's in the BCM and the radio do not match therfore the radio locks.
