Question about 2007 Kia Optima

Open Question

I want to install a sirius radio to my 2007 kia optima. I have to get to the back of the stock radio. How do I get there? I am sure there is a trick to removing a portion of the dash.

SOURCE: antenna hookup 2007 dodge ram

First test to see if you really do have a factory Sirius antenna. The dealer will tell you the car is Sirius ready, but that does not mean you have the antenna. Your radio should have a "SAT" button on it....pushing it should bring up the Sirius emergency weather station, which will play even if your sirius isn't activated. If pushing the "SAT" button does not do this, then you simply have a "Sirius Ready" factory radio, and no factory Antenna and/or tuner. In this case, my advice would be to either mount a sirius antenna on the roof and get a starmate or something, or go to Dodge and spend upwards of $700 for the factory sirius antenna and tuner. If you car does have a factory sirius antenna....then just call 888-539-7474, and activate the sirius that is already in the car, no need to add anything. Hope this helps or at least clears things up.

SOURCE: Ford Explorer Sirius radio

sometimes if you dont put the right code in all the functions wont work.factory radios nowadays go thru the ecm (electronic control module) of the veichle.meaning if your radio was stolen and put into another vehichle it would be locked, and a code needs to be put in.unplug the battery and radio and go to this site to find your code.

SOURCE: The airbag light in dash staying on in my 2004

Under driver and passenger seats are wires that go to seat belt anchors. These are tensioner wires.Unplug the wires from the plug under the seat.clean and replace.Doing this while the ignition is turned off. Then turn ignition back on.In 90% of the time this is your problem.Constant movement of seat causes this or rear passengers kicking plugs off.Good luck phil.

How to replace radio in 2007 kia optima .. I need to know how to remove old radio and trim

The trim snaps in, no screws! I have used a hook type screwdriver, the kind used to install springs... I carefully insert the tool between the lower left corner of the radio and the bezel. Rotate the tool 90 degrees toward the bezel and pull straight out. Id say it comes off with maybe 15 pounds of pulling force. The radio is screwed in with brackets. You'll see once the bezel is off. **Keep in mind that many Optimas use an external amp located between the right rear door and wheel well. Also, some use 2 ohm speakers, all the way around. You may need to change all of it to upgrade your sound system, I did**. Good luck.

Will a 2006 Optima radio work in a 2007 Optima? My 2007 does not have MP3 cd and the 2006 does.

most likely they will, if the radios are the same size then you need to make sure the harness in the back is the same kind, if not then they make adapters for it. if radios are different sizes then they make different covers for them
