Hi! The speaker terminal may not be properly connected or a little loose thats why it just pop. Try checking the wires if properly connected and see how it goes. Hope this helps and good luck!

The terminals are the ones that holds the wires to the speakers. You can find it at the back of the speakers.

identify each speaker is working correctly. this may be harder if they are enclosed in the sides of the doors. if you can hear popping in all the speakers or just one then it helps identify what the problem is. For instance One speaker only popping then it could be a grounding problem, (bad connection) or broken speaker membrane.
to test this speaker take it out, do not tear the paper or plastic, and try it on a different port or place basically swapping speakers. if the pop follows the speaker then you found the right one. another way is to get a 9 volt battery. if touched to the terminals of a speaker and while watching the speaker membrane it will pulse one time. if it goes out the positive side of the 9v is on the positive terminal of the speaker. if it pulses inward then the positive on the 9v battery is on the negative side of the speaker. each speaker set should pulse out, such as throwing the sound to you. if one set is off then it can cause a complication in the system.
if popping is in all the speakers check each cable that comes from the stereo, and especially make sure the antenna is seated in the stereo correctly. and last make sure that the stereo has correct grounding as well. this will be a black wire that will go to the chassie, or it can be a bunch of wires that separate out at a later point. each speaker wire will have a different color so that you know which speaker is what, however if it was an after market stereo then they could all be the same color such as black and then one of the 2 wires going to the speaker will have a white stripe on it. Lastly does the stereo have a knob or just buttons to make the volume go up and down. if a knob then it can also be a potentiometer problem. this is how the stereo goes from loud to soft and the know lets the volume graduate high and low. if it is this there is some spray that you don't want to get inside a cd/DVD player but you do want in behind the knob. and it is called contact cleaner. www.MGChemicals.com is the one i use and its about 8 bucks here catalog #404b-140g

No sound from radio. When the power is turned on I hear a thumping noise from the speakers. What might be the problem? My car is a 2007 Lexus Es 350.

The thumbing noise is an out put if you hear it over the speakers.
So that means the problem is with a CD or cessette player that you must have that will not pop back to the raido mode

That sounds like the radio has failed, the popping noise is the giveaway.

It could be a ground wire. I'm curious did the previous owner install the radio? Sometimes people just install a radio to the nearest power, ground and remote wire without any precautions on what they tap in to. Part of what you are hearing is alternator and/or ignition noise. Between the two noises my concern is that the installer might have tapped into a blower motor wire for either power or ground. The noise itself can be fixed with a 20 amp noise filter such as this one http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Automotive-Noise-Filter-270-055/dp/B000T306DY but I suspect a bigger issue. Either you or someone knowledgeable with car audio installation should pull that radio out and check all the connections and where they are tapped in to and install it properly. The engine noise itself can be fixed with the noise filter. This popping sound I feel is a short from mis installation. I have seen cars get dash fires from this. I never like to worry people but I am also honest. I would tend to this soon. Good luck.

The basics, your battery is used to provide power to the starter. Once the engine is running the alternator then provides current to recharge the battery and run all of your electrical components. so I would suspect the starter is not working to start the engine.

will try to assist you. did you have your clutch replaced professionally? if it's a popping or cracking sound when accelerating or turning, it's most likely a c.v. axle going bad. either on driver or passenger side in the front of the car right?if it is a bad c.v. axle it will pop and crack when you turn wheel from left to right at low r.p.m. if not this, you may have brake issues. either it's a grinding sound while accelerating or decellerating,as long as cars in motion the noise will persist.try tapping your brakes while in a parking lot in slow gear, hear something from driver front, have a passenger with the widow down on passenger side, hear it from front passenger side? the thing i go by is what i hear when i test drive to diagnose an issue with a vehicle is,axles?popping and cracking when turning the steering wheel from left to right at low speed. [axle problem] grinding, scraping sound? brake issues! hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com and we are here for you 24/7 7days per week thank you!!!!

2003 Yukon Denali, all radio functions work...just

The built in power amplifier has gone bad and needs to be replaced. You can have the radio repaired, which is cheaper then replacing it. It's common for the OEM radio on the GM to go bad as they draw high current and the heat causes the problem. Good luck and keep me posted.

We own a 2000 GMC Jimmy, and it won't start. It

it sounds like they may have installed the passtime on it incorrectly. I would contact the dealer that installed the passtime system on there. Also they may have inadvertantly disabled it, you may need to contact them for a new code (if it is the passtime that rquires a code). The noise you hear through the speakers is more than likley due to them not grounding something properly.
