Hello there:
the coil pack should be located on the engine to find the location chase one of the plug wires back you should be able to see a square or rectangular box that has all you're plug wires on it to remove it you will need to remove the two small retaining bolts and it should lift out but too insure that the coil pack is bad go to you're local parts house and get a spark tester to insure that you have a good spark at all plugs coming from the coil pack... hope this helps you out thanks

Coil packs I replaced #4 and #5 went out. Why?

How to Tell if You Have a Faulty Coil Pac How a Coil Pack Works When creating a spark at the spark plug, the fire must initiate from a high voltage supply, so as much fuel as possible burns in the cylinder. Whenever the combustion process is started, the coil pack builds up the energy, as much as 50,000 to 75,000 Volts. When the electronic control module (the car computer) sends the signal to the ignition control, the voltage is released from the coil pack through the spark plug cables to the spark plug.
When the spark travels to the spark plug, it jumps from the spark plug gap to the ground, causing an explosion of the fuel air mixture inside the cylinder chamber Coil Pack Problems Usually, if a coil pack is bad, there will be a loss of fire or spark in one or more cylinders. This causes what's commonly referred to as misfiring. Misfiring can cause drag on the crankshaft, and usually results in a very poor performing engine Common Symptoms of a Faulty Coil Pack A faulty coil pack will generally have symptoms similar to a faulty spark plug. Some of the most common tell tale signs that a coil may be defective include:
  • A rough idle
  • An unexplainably louder-than-usual engine
  • A noticeable lack of power
  • A significant drop in RPMs while accelerating for no apparent reason
  • A blinking or intermittently activating check engine light
  • An active gas warning light when the vehicle has plenty of gasoline
  • Smoke from the exhaust emitting intermittently, instead of in a steady strea How to Test a Coil Pack Fortunately, there is an easy way to test the coil packs in your vehicle and make sure they're working as they should. You need to use ohm meter to test the coil pack for continuity. Make sure you have the approximate ohm values for the coil pack. To find this information, research your car's engine on the Internet or purchase a Chilton's or Haynes manual to find out what the mega ohms reading on the coil pack should be. What Coil Pack Works with a Rotary Engine? Most rotary engines require a different type of ignition coil pack. Below are two, one for a standard replacement, and one that is a higher voltage performance type coil pack.
    Original Equipment Replacement
Beck Arnley is a well known name in the automotive ignition parts industry. They are favored by many mechanics, especially those that work mostly on import cars. The Beck Arnley 178-8025 rotary engine coil pack is a direct replacement for original equipment parts on older Mazda cars with a rotary engine. You can expect to pay about $55 for one.Performance Replacement
M&W Ignition Systems is a fairly well known name in the import performance market. Their part number PAK005 is a high performance ignition coil pack for the performance enthusiast who isn't afraid to spend a little more on a high quality high performance part. With prices running around $245 for a double coil pack for direct fire ignitions, these coil packs will deliver years of excellent performance.
When ordering a coil pack for your rotary engine equipped car, you need to know the year and model as well as the engine displacement to ensure you are given the correct parts.

How to check coil pack"

Easiest way is if you have another working coil pack and switch it out with the suspected faulty coil pack. Say you have a problem that is with the coil pack that covers the 1-3 switch it with the one that covers 2-4. If the problem does not switch to where you put the faulty coil pack... it's not the coil pack. Replacement coil packs can be found at an auto part store or if you need a cheap replacement you can usually find one at a junkyard.

My coil pack keeps going out in my 2005 dodge caravan.. There is no power going to the coil pack

I don't understand why you would replace the coil if you are not getting power to it.
The coil is powered by the ASD relay. Have you replaced the relay ?

05 Ford Escape, coils #3 & #4 not firing. We've replaced the battery, spark plugs, alternator, coil packs, & pcm. Had pcm reflashed. Garage said it had to be coil packs, but just replaced coil packs 3

Check engine light on ? Code's ? What engine ? 2.3 l 4cylinder or 3.ol v-6 This vehicle has coil on plug ignition system , not coil packs ! a coil per cylinder . If new coils an still has no spark , has no B+ voltage to the coil or the PCM isn't controlling them . Without testing i'd only be guessing as to the problem .If the repair shop you had it to can only say it had to be the coils , I'd find another shop to take it to !

Buick Park Avenue has Type I coil packs, three twin tower ignition coils are combined into a single coil pack unit, and Type II coil packs, the coils can be replaced separately and the ignition wires are all on the same side of the coil pack.

I dont have any spark. have power to the coil pack just nothing past that. what to do??

Check the crank shaft postioning sensor. If you are getting power to the coil pack and there is no power coming out of the coil pack the coil pack might be bad or have corrioson between the coil pack and the mount. Thanks

Dont know how to take master cylinder off to replace coil pack

You shouldn't have to remove it....here are the steps from the tech manual:

Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Label and disconnect the spark plug wires from each of the coil pack towers.

  1. Disengage the electrical connector from the ignition coil pack.
  2. Remove the coil pack mounting fasteners.
  3. Remove the coil pack from the vehicle. If equipped, remove the coil pack from the mounting bracket.
To install:
  1. Place the coil pack into position on top of the engine valve cover, or mounting bracket, if equipped.
  2. Install and tighten the coil pack mounting fasteners to 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).
  3. Plug in the electrical connector to the ignition coil pack.
  4. Connect each spark plug wire to each corresponding coil pack tower. The coil pack towers are numbered with the correct cylinder identification. Be sure that the spark plug wires snap firmly onto each coil tower.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Where is the coil pack located under the hood

Follow the spark plug wires away from the spark plugs. The coil packs are on top of the ignition module. The coil packs have two terminals each and will have two spark plug wires attached to each coil pack. There are 3 coil packs and I would recommend replacing all three at once. They are bolted down to the ignition module bracket with a total of 6 small screws. Two per coil pack. Remove the small screws and the electrical connectors and the plug wires. Dont forget to mark the wires so you can replace them as you found them. Installation is just the opposite of removal.
