The orfice is located in the liquid line, this line runs from the condensor to the evaperator core, disconnect line at the core first and look in line and core side if its not there then look at the other end at condenser.

if you look on the smaller tube near the fittings you will see a crimped section about 3-4'' from the fitting it would be in that section

The orifice is actually an orifice tube and is an internal part inside a metal tube.

The orifice tube is inside the tubing of the A/C. Most likely in the bottom tube that comes out of the firewall.

Actually the orifice tube on a 98 Cavalier is up front,passenger side of AC condenser in the small line!! (#7 below)
PS If it's plugged or has deb're in it the system needs complete flush and the Accumulator Drier replaced!~!~!~!(# 1 Below)

I am trying to locate the a/c orifice tube on a 2000 cavalier 2.2L. I am replacing the compressor


The expansion (orifice) tube is located at the condenser to evaporator tube connection IN the condenser tube.
