Have a 95 GMC sonima 2.2 L have replaced fuel pump fuel filter it starts but then after running little while ( like 6 blocks) shut it off and then wouldn't start again . Let it set over night it started...

Do you know how to test for spark , hook up a fuel pressure gauge . When it won't start you need to find out what is missing . It has to have spark and fuel for it to start. And seeing how you replaced the fuel pump and filter already i would no spark and the ignition control module as the problem . But not being able to test it that is just a guess . Have you always waited till morning to retrying to start the vehicle ? Have you tried to restart after an hour ?

91 acclaim v6. starts and runs good, but once its been running for awhile (hour or so), and i turn it off, it doesnt want to start back up, or does and dies. wait 2 hours and it starts right up. recently...

Sounds like either you have a clogged fuel line and or clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump is failing. What happens when the vehicle runs the fuel pump heats up, as it heats up it produces less and less fuel for your car. Eventually ti stops working until its cool again on faulty pumps. Given the age of your vehicle I would say you need to replace both pump and filter.

99 yukon 180,000 mi. doesn't start. cranks forever, but won't start. Should I be able to hear the fuel pump when I turn on the key?

yes you should be able to hear the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds once the key is turned to the on pos. check to make sure you have spark. if you do try having someone spray air intake or carb cleaner into intake manifold while you crank. If the truck starts right up for a second (or stays running as you keep spraying) Id say you have a bad fuel pump and id change the sending unit also. (First check the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay) GMC and Chevy are nororiously known for having bad fuel pump/sending unit problems. I have prob changed over 60 myself.

Just changed fuel filter. Now having trouble starting. Then runs

What is the fuel pressure?. how many miles on the truck? has the pump been replaced before? one item to check first is the fuel pressure regulator. it may be under the engine cover on the drivers side. turn the eng off and remove the little vac line from the regulator. see if there is any fuel coming out of the nipple. if there is fuel, replace the fuel pressure regulator. it may take a while to leak fuel , but if it does, replace it.

THIS PROBLEM IS ALMOST ALWAYS DUE TO A FAILED FUEL PUMP PRESSURE CHECK VALVE, REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP.

Ignition coil/box

Check your fuel system pressure. This sounds like it may be your pressure regulator. You shouldn't have to pump the gas. May also be your fuel filter.

98 GMC starting problems

Take off your gas cap and have someone stand there with thier ear at the hole, (no smoking), turn the key to on just before start and they should hear the fuel pump humming. if they dont then try to start. if it doesnt start turn key off and at that instant the pump should be heard again. What i think is happening is your pump is not energizing . Its supposed to energize when turning your key on and off. This can be caused by a bad fuel pump or pump relay switch. Hope this helps. please rate me
