yes you will special tools to charge you're a/c you will need to evacuate the system completely before charging the system and by just putting freon in the system you can over charge the system and cause more problems to the a/c system best if taken to a certified a/c shop so when they do the a/c they should also check the system for leaks and any other problems that maybe present that are not visible to the eye.... hope this helps you out thanks for you're time
