99 dodge durango wont shift into 3rd gear

If it's in limp in mode it won't shift out of 2nd gear. Get the trouble codes read. The solenoid pack is a pretty common failure. But don't just throw parts at it. Get the codes first.

You should first fill the transmission fluid to the correct with genuine Nissan Matic J Transmission fluid and replacing the transmission input shaft speed sensor. Its costs approximately $113 at the dealer for the sensor.

first buy the transmission fluid shift helper and pour it in the transmission...and if that doesn't work then you need to let a mechanic check the transmission for you...it might be going out...

I HAVE 1999 DODGE TRUCK. TRANSMISSION IS AUTOMATIC IT WANT TO SHIFT UP AND DOWN AT SPEEDS OF 45 TO 55 MPH WITH OVERDRIVE IN AND SPEEDS OF 30 TO 35 MPH WITH OVERDRIVE OUT

Sounds like dirt in the transmission may be causing the shift points to not work properly.
Is this the problem you are having?
If it is, then I would say that one should have the fluid changed out of the transmission at a local shop.

If this does not solve the problem, then the solution may be a rebuild of the transmission.

The truck is shaking only while on the gas at certain speeds

Yes you can do this type of suspension work yourself. However, whenever you do suspension work it usually involves a wheel alignment afterwards.
You 've cut the cost of your repairs drastically. Now take the vehicle in for a four whell wheel alignment. and balancing.Let the alignment machine tell you what the rear of the car needs . Your gonna have to have it done anyway so let them have the rear.
Just a note before you take this vehicle in for an alignment fill it up with gas.
This way suspension is loaded.
Good luck
The wheel shaking is probably your tire either being out of round or needs balancing.

The speedometer in my 1999 Dodge Durango only works above 30 mph. What is causing this?

It is either your output speed sensor in the transmission, or if you have rear anti lock, the rear wheel speed sensor. Check both for metal contamination.

there is a malfunction in the transmission somewhere. this is a problem you cannot fix in a basic garage because of the diagnosis tools needed for this trans. diagnosis. could be bad TV cable adjustment if not anything major. durango transmissions usually dont last past 100,000 miles.
