Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle
Interior is wet after vehicle parked in area with many trees. Just got notice from factory that the drains from the sunroof can easily obstruct in this environment.. I would like to know where they are and how to clean them.
The drain holes are located at each corner of the sun roof carrier. you will need to open the sun roof all the way to be able to see the drain holes. the drain pipes run down the A and C posts of the vehicle. [A post front] [C post rear]. the easiest way to clear them is to use a flexible piece of cable pushed down from the top. if they are not blocked, the pipes may be off on the under side of the sun roof carrier. this usually happens if somebody has been doing panel work on the vehicle and forget to reconnect pipes. to rectify this you will have to lower roof lining. pipes just push on.

Check them and clear them with compressed air every six months. If you live in an area with lots of 'whirylgigs from trees suggest you get a Car cover PDQ. Volvo regards this as a maintenance problem and WILL NOT fix this by saying its a defective sunroof. They expect you to have car cover, carport or garage when owning this car and living near trees.
