Most if not all american cars up untill about 2005 do not have a chassis number ,only a metal plate under the bonnet ,this causes no end of problems when importing a vehicle into spain where paperwork is known as food without working for it ,or comida sin trabajo .Trust me on this one and do what i say and thats to get a set of stamps and mark up some masking tape with measured marks and stick this to the chassis under the bonnet where its easy to see and stamp it yourself not forgotting the star stamp at either end of the number and if the vehicle doesnt come with a number invent one. Also invent on a computer with shift headed ford or whater paper and make sure it shows the chassis number engine number and the size of the tyres and speed rating ,power of engine ,height length weight how many gears dry plate clutch 75amp hour battery 55amp alternator or whatever how many seats ect or you just end up going here and their paying out hard earnt cash to some supposed expert to put a rubber stamp on something because they are a member of some club of experts =???.Also find a decent supplier of rubber stamps who will make you some from a copy on a bit of paper¿¿¿¿ But this is spain remember

How do the sway bar links and tie rods relate? Or are they completely different?

A sway bar is mounted on the chassis and most times connected to the bottom control arm on the front. They control the roll of the vehicle when cornering.
A tie rod is the bar that goes between the steering rack or drag link and the steering arm. Tie rods are a part of the steering, all cars have tie rods while not all cars have sway bars.

Need info on 1987 fuso bus 47 seater

buses as large as 47 passenger are normally not built by the vehicle manufacturer but are built by a coach building company on a manufacturer chassis. As an example Scania make the vehicle chassis and running gear but it is a bus company that builds on to the frame . So have a look around the chassis -engine area -drivers area for extra compliance plates that will have a manufacturer's name to identify who actually made the bus. If you can indentify the - engine , gear box, diffs as belonging to a particular vehicle manufacturer then by using the vin number and contacting the engineering department of that manufacturer you may be able to track down the coach builder and get more information that way

Where is the chassis number located

american market model doesnt have one ,if it does have one .most obvious place is on the chassis passenger side ,could be front wheel arch ,if not their rear wheel arch ,if you cannot find one then you will have to take it to a ford garage and they will have to stamp one on and issue a certificate which you then present to the vehicle inspection station when its inspected to issue a fiche technica .Vehicles sold in spain had a chassis number but i have imported quite a few american built models and no chassis number is the norm

Does my newly purchased 1998 Chevy Cavalier require a regular chassis lube. If so how frequently.

The chassis on that car should be of the sealed variety. The only way to know for sure is to look for grease zerks in the typical ball joint or tie rod area.

I'm russian. I've got Ford Escape XLT 2005 v6 3.0 and I can't find engine sequence/engine number/or product sequence number on the engine. Please, help me to find it.

we have the same problem here in spain with american built vehicles ,When i come to do the paperwork and their is no engine number and the spanish authorities insist on numbers on everything and three copies of it all with stamps on.So when i get a crysler gran voyager or ford mercury with no chassis number stamped in the actual chassis ,just a silly plate in the dash which means nothing here .I do a bit of doctoring before the vehicle goes for its mechanical inspection and they evan measure it for height and width and length and they look for the stamped chassis number which on all american vehicles i take to the test and they are always in the same place .Drivers side on top of suspension ,and engine number stamped on a nice area of the block, thats accessable ,if no engine number exists then use the last 6 numbers of the chassis number .----know what i mean
