I cant find the fuse for the rear licence plate light in my 2004 Acura MDX. Its not labelled in the manual or on the fuse cover labels. There are about 80 fuses in this car
It will fused with the headlights. If all the other lights work, replace the license plate light bulb(s).
There should be a ground wire bolted or screwed into the body or frame. It will probably be on or near the license plate light housing. Check for a good connection at the housing. Also make sure the grounded side at the frame or body has no rust or deposits and that it is secured tightly. Clean the area with a wire brush.
My next step would be to get a DVOM (Digital Volt Ohm Meter) or borrow one to test the voltage along the path of the wires. Test the voltage with the lights off and on. Did you check all the fuses in the fuse box and replace them if they were blown? I don't think the license plate lights are fused with anything other that the headlights. I replaced both license plate lights, and the headlights and rear red lights work fine. Still, the license plate lights wont go on when the headlights go on. I was hoping there was a fuse specific to the license plate lights. Both are out. Any other suggestions?
All the other lights work.
I replaced the bulbs at the license plate.
I can't locate the ground wire in the most recent suggestion. It didn't seem to be in the housing near the license plate. Any other specifics for this ground wire?
