Question about 2000 Ford Explorer
I bought a 2000 Ford Explorer today. was messing with the touch pad to unlock the doors. now the transmission won't engage is this normal?I dont have the code and it is not where it says it is in the owners manual. anyway to bypass the code.
The tougch pad on the door has no effect on the transmission. The theft system will prevent the engine from starting, i wonder if you mean the shifter will not move from park ,into gear. If so turn the ignition just slight forward from the lock position , but stop before any of the dash indicators can on, now with your foot on the brake see if you can move the shifter into nuetral, if so then you can start the truck and put into gear.

If it's an auto will not move shift until you put your foot on the brake. if still wont engage try replacing fuse . as it works of the brake switch
