Where is the water pump on a 2001 mitsubishi pajero 3500 engine.

The water pump appears to be driven by the camshaft timing belt.

Purists would say the timing belt should be replaced at the same time and every time it is disturbed even if it has been replaced recently.
I would say the water pump should be replaced at the same time as the timing belt whether it needs replacing or not.

100,000 is the recomended interval change for the timing belt, however there is no set schedule for the water pump.

Is santa fe 2009 water pump driven by timing belt? should water pump be replaced when timing belt is replaced? If water pump leaks will it destroy the valves?

whether it is driven by the belt depends on which motor you have in it, but it seems to me that yours probably is. standard practice is to replace the pump at the same time you replace the timing belt if it is indeed driven by the timing belt, and no, you will not harm your valves if your water pump is leaking, but if the water pump bearing fails and the belt shifts position then you will almost definitely bend your valves.

Trailblazer won't start after water pump relacement

Many a times the problem occurs due to timing not adjusted,in many cases the timing belt also needs to be replaced while water pump replacing.
Or its also possible that water pump not replaced properly or timing got mistimed.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

Dodge stratus 6 cyl 2005 not sure of engine size. I only want to advise my daughter on what she should do about replacing her water pump. Car seemed to be running fine but was losing coolant. Car was found...

It is common practice to replace the water pump when replacing the water pump also. If the timing belt has recently been replaced than it would not be necessary to replace it again. If the belt is original than it makes perfect sense to replace it when the water pump is replaced as the timing belt will need to be removed in order to replace the water pump. There is no additional labor coast just the additional parts cost of the timing belt.

When it is done you shouldn't have to worry about it for the next 100,000 miles or so.

If you don't replace it when you have the water pump replaced than down the road when the timing belt is due for service you will have to pay for all the labor costs again to replace the water pump.

Wont hold water. big hose on the bottom of the radiator attaches 2 the engine and it leaks right out of the engine underneath that hose...

Well, if that Radiator hose is not leaking, then the Water pump seals have gone bad. More than likely you need a new water pump.

Vehicles w/ Timing Belt Driven Water Pumps Should Always Have The Water Pump Replaced When The Timing Belt Is Replaced.

If you do not, then the Timing Belt will fail, turning a low cost repair into thousands because of valve train damages. . .

For the Timing Belt & Water Pump KIT - its around $258 through NAPA

WHEN DOES THE TIMING BELT FOR A 2004 HONDA ACCORD GET REPLACED?

It depends on the engine. The 4 cylinder engine uses a timing chain, and is generally replaced every 150,000 miles (Honda doesn't give a specific interval) with the water pump (driven off of the timing chain) and timing gears. On the V6 engine, you have a regular rubber/steel belt, and it is supposed to be replaced every 105,000 miles, according to Honda. The water pump is driven off the belt as well, and should be inspected or replaced. (I recommend replacing the water pump anyway, just to save yourself any future trouble)

Newly replaced timing belt was broken in my daewoo nubira 2000

Yes you should always do the water pump when doing the timing belt. belt tension too tight can cause the break as well as a bad water pump or idler pully, these should all be replaced when you do a timing belt to save yourself this exact headache later on.
